Honorine Jobert Anemone (Anemone x 'Honorine Jobert') was selected as the Perennial of the Year, and it's easy to see why. Snow white blooms are held on long, strong stems atop a beautiful mound of dark green foliage.
Their late season of bloom is a very welcome attribute. Showy flower power gets started at a time when most other flowers are starting to fade...but fall color hasn't kicked in yet.
No wonder butterflies come to visit every day to gather the valuable nectar! Honorine Jobert Anemone brings lively activity to your garden.
Nodding, cup-shaped blooms seem designed to twist and twirl in the breeze. The long stems offer up the flowers to the wind, but stay supple without breaking.
Trim some of the flowers for cut flower arrangements. Each bloom features bright yellow stamens in a circle around the green centers for a perfect accent.
This choice perennial spreads to cover ground in a sophisticated display. Although it looks delicate, this cultivar is both exceptionally cold-hardy and durable.
It prefers to be consistently moist, but tolerates tough urban conditions and isn't phased by deer or rabbits. Long-lived Honorine Jobert Anemone also returns for you over and over.
Consider this beautiful plant as a very special memorial gift, or to make your most stylish friend smile with delight. Order Honorine Jobert Anemone for a lush garden mainstay today!
How to Use Honorine Jobert Anemone in the Landscape
Mature stands of Anemone are absolutely enchanting. They'll be a perfect fit for a Fairy Garden, or to use near a Children's Playhouse.
Keep them with other white-flowering perennials and shrubs in a polished Moon Garden. This classic choice is a great choice for busy professionals who arrive home later and want a tranquil, reflective backdrop to unwind.
Create a mass planting by spacing them 15 inches apart on center. They'll fill into a brilliant carpet of white and canary yellow.
Rich, moist soil is their favorite..and they'll make a wonderful addition to low-lying spots. Weave them into a mixed planting with our other Japanese Anemone options.
Like most Asian plants, Honorine Jobert Anemone presents an evocative, fine-textured appeal. Contrast them with coarse Coneflowers, or a bird-friendly Eastern Red Cedar tree.
Underplant the feathery foliage of Bald Cypress tree with a narrow planting of Honorine Jobert Wildflowers. They'll make natural partners with our extensive collection of Japanese Maples, too.
Try them in patio planters for a lovely addition to a seasonal display. Pair them with a Pure White® Black Diamond® Crape Myrtle, then fill in spring-flowering bulbs and Tiarella Foam Flower for white blooms and gorgeous foliage all season-long.
This choice is incredible for damp areas near downspouts or near the splash zone of fountains.
Include them in Rain Gardens to help filter potentially polluted water runoff from roofs and streets before it hits the storm drain.
#ProPlantTips for Care
These bloomers work in full sun or partial shade. They'll need at least four hours of direct sunlight a day, with afternoon shade in the warmest climates.
Support their root zone during planting with a few handfuls of compost and Nature Hills Root Booster, following directions. Our expert growers recommend this to support the tiny feeder roots over the entire life of your landscape plants.
Give them consistently moist, but well-drained soil. They won't do well in standing water...but do need a consistent schedule of supplemental water.
Mulch a three-inch layer to cover their root system, but pull it back from the stems. This helps cut down on surface evaporation and will also improve your soil over time.
Prune down to the ground in early spring, and watch for the new growth to appear from the crown. You'll want to feed them with a slow-release fertilizer formula for flowering plants.
Hurry to order your Honorine Jobert Anemone. This choice is in high demand, and we'll sell out of our limited inventory quickly.
