By placing an order with Nature Hills Nursery, you agree to these terms. We've kept them simple because buying plants should be easy.


Our Plant Guarantee

Every Plant is Protected

When you order from Nature Hills, your plants are covered from the moment they leave our nursery. Here's how it works:

Free 45-Day Growing & Glowing Guarantee

  • What's covered: Plants that arrive damaged, dead, or fail to thrive due to quality issues
  • How long: 45 days from delivery (extended through May 1st for orders delivered after October 15th)
  • What we need: Photos of the plant and a quick email to support@naturehills.com within 45 days of delivery

Your options if something goes wrong:

  1. Free replacement plant (we cover shipping)
  2. Full store credit (never expires, unlike Rewards points)
  3. Full refund to your original payment method

Extended Protection (Optional)

  • Add 1-year coverage at checkout
  • Covers properly planted and cared-for plants that fail after the 45-day guarantee
  • Remedy: Full store credit and free shipping on your next order

What's not covered: Improper planting, inadequate watering, weather extremes, pest/disease after planting, wildlife damage, planting outside your hardiness zone, or issues not reported within 45 days of delivery.

Products without guarantee: Annual plants, flower bulbs, grass plugs, hard goods, gift cards, warranty purchases, and shipping fees.


Shipping

Delivery: 3-4 business days with tracking. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your order total and location.

Weather Protection: We monitor forecasts and may delay shipments when temperatures drop below 32°F or rise above 95°F. This protects your plants, even if it means waiting a few extra days.

What we need from you:

  • Accurate street address (no P.O. boxes for live plants)
  • Someone available to receive the delivery
  • Inspect your plants promptly and report any issues within 45 days of delivery

State restrictions: Some plants can't ship to certain states due to agricultural regulations. We'll let you know at checkout if this affects your order.

Order Changes & Cancellations

  • Our 45-day guarantee covers you if anything goes wrong

Returns & Exchanges

Live plants: We can't accept returns due to agricultural restrictions and the perishable nature of plants. Our guarantee process is faster and gets you back to gardening sooner.

Hard goods: Return unused items in original packaging within 30 days for a refund of the out-of-pocket amount paid, minus return shipping costs. (Note: Rewards points used on returned orders are forfeited and not reinstated).

Discounts & Promotions

Stacking coupons: You can combine multiple discount codes unless a specific promotion (or Rewards coupon) says otherwise.

Exclusions: Most coupons don't apply to hard goods, grass plugs, warranties, or shipping fees. We'll show you the discount at checkout so there are no surprises.

Timing: Apply codes when you order. We can't add discounts or Rewards points to orders after they're placed. Ensure you are logged into your Rewards account before checking out.


Nature Hills Rewards Program

Earning & Redeeming: Earn points on qualifying purchases and referrals. Redeem points for discount coupons at checkout. Points have no cash value and are non-transferable.

Strict 12-Month Expiration: Rewards points expire exactly 12 months from the date they were earned. Note: This is different from Guarantee Store Credit, which never expires. Redeeming or earning new points does not extend the expiration of older points.

Returns & Points: If you return an item purchased with a Rewards coupon, the out-of-pocket amount is refunded, but the redeemed points are permanently forfeited and cannot be reinstated.

Account Rules: One account per person. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the program or accounts for suspected fraud or abuse at any time.


Text Message Program

Nature Hills Nursery operates two separate SMS text messaging programs. You may opt into one or both. Participation in either program is completely voluntary and is not a condition of any purchase.

Program 1: Marketing and Notifications (Shortcode 82651)

What you're signing up for: Gardening tips, exclusive deals, seasonal offers, order updates, and occasional reminders (like when you left plants in your cart).

Frequency: Varies based on season. Expect more in spring, less in winter.

Opt-out anytime: Text STOP to 82651. You'll get one confirmation and then we'll stop.

Program 2: Customer Care (Toll-Free 888-477-9062)

What you're signing up for: Conversational customer care. When you text our toll-free number with an order or service question, we reply with help during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST).

Frequency: Varies based on your customer service interactions. You will only receive replies to messages you initiate.

Opt-out anytime: Text STOP to 888-477-9062. You'll get one confirmation and then we'll stop.

Applies to Both Programs

Quiet hours: No texts between 9 PM and 8 AM, or before noon on Sundays (your local time).

Cost: We don't charge you, but your carrier's message and data rates apply.

Fine print: By signing up for either program, you agree to receive automated or conversational texts even if you're on a Do Not Call list. You don't have to sign up to buy plants. Carrier fees may apply. We may change the phone number or shortcode used for either program and will notify you if we do.


Your Responsibilities

To keep your plants healthy and your guarantee valid:

  • Follow the planting and care instructions that come with your plants
  • Report problems within 45 days of delivery
  • Accept deliveries (refusing packages voids the guarantee)
  • Provide photos if filing a guarantee claim
  • Make sure the plants you order are right for your climate zone

Legal Stuff

Disputes: These terms are governed by Ohio law. If we have a disagreement, let's talk it through first. Contact us within 60 days and we'll work in good faith to resolve it. If that doesn't work, disputes go to binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association. Small claims under $10,000 can be filed in your county or in Lorain County, Ohio.

Time limit: Claims must be brought within one year where permitted by law.

Changes: We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of our site means you accept the updates.


Mobile Terms of Service

The Nature Hills Nursery mobile message services (the "Service") are operated by Nature Hills Nursery ("Nature Hills Nursery", "we", or "us"). Nature Hills Nursery operates two separate mobile message programs through the Service: (1) a Marketing and Notifications program sent through shortcode 82651, and (2) a Customer Care program sent through our toll-free number 888-477-9062. Your use of either program constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions ("Mobile Terms"). We may modify or cancel either program or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

By consenting to Nature Hills Nursery's SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Nature Hills Nursery through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided, even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. Text messages from the Marketing and Notifications program (82651) may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology. Service-related messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.). Promotional messages may include promotions, specials, and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders). Text messages from the Customer Care program (888-477-9062) are conversational and sent in response to messages you send us.

You understand that you do not have to sign up for either program in order to make any purchases, and your consent is not a condition of any purchase with Nature Hills Nursery. Your participation in each program is completely voluntary.

We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan and contact your wireless provider for details. You are solely responsible for all charges related to SMS/text messages, including charges from your wireless provider.

You may opt out of either program at any time:

  • To opt out of the Marketing and Notifications program: Text the single keyword command STOP to 82651 or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel.
  • To opt out of the Customer Care program: Text the single keyword command STOP to 888-477-9062.

You'll receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device from the program you opted out of, unless initiated by you. If you have subscribed to both programs, you will need to opt out of each separately using the correct number for that program.

We may change any short code or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. You acknowledge that any messages, including any STOP or HELP requests, you send to a short code or telephone number we have changed may not be received and we will not be responsible for honoring requests made in such messages.

The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to sign up for the program(s) with your new number.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.
