The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Growing Zones 5-9
Imagine being able to have the uniquely elegant lilac flowers in your yard, only with less space requirements and continuous blooms right up until frost. Your Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Lo & Behold® Lilac Chip Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii LO & BEHOLD 'Lilac Chip') provides that boon, and far more! Lo & Behold® Lilac Chip is a deciduous shrub with exceptional flowers from summer to frost!
The long spikes of lavender-pink flowers appear in summer and persist right up until frost. Their fragrance is in keeping with their appearance, sure to draw you in for a closer look each time you step outside! You won't be able to help it as your shrub will be swarming with bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds nearly all growing season-long!
Lo and Behold® Lilac Chip is a more compact and rounded variety of Butterfly Bush, growing 24 - 30 inches in height and width, it's also quite hardy and won't require a lot of special care! Hardy throughout a wide range of USDA planting zones 5-9, and best yet, the Low & Behold® Butterfly Bush is also a seedless variety, and you won't even need to worry about deadheading to ensure its continuous bloom. In most warm climates, Buddlea act as a shrub, but in cold winter growing zones these plants will die back to the ground like an herbaceous perennial.
Landscape Application:
These are perfect for your smaller garden spots where you want something showy but don't have a lot of room. Plant some in mixed borders, or make an outstanding low hedge around your sun gardens, mixed perennial borders as a backdrop, or in groupings around your seating areas so you have a front-row seat to all your garden visitors!
Go ahead and plant these dramatic shrubby perennials throughout your sun gardens without worrying about pests! Butterflies and hummingbirds will buzz around your glorious blossoms, but the deer and rabbits will pass Butterfly Bushes by because of the aromatic gray-green leaves!
Small and compact enough for any sized garden or urban courtyard, you don't need a yard to enjoy these beautiful plants! Plant yours in a large planter or as a container garden specimen on your porch, patio, or balcony in the sun!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Buddlea are fantastically easy-to-grow perennials that need the full sun to flower their best. Any well-drained soil location with regular moisture access works best for new shrubs, but once established, Lo & Behold® Lilac Chip is drought tolerant during the summer and frost resistant later in the season. Prune back the entire plant to about 6 inches above the ground in the very early spring. You can deadhead spent blooms to encourage more.
- Full Sun
