Lo and Behold® how lovely this shrub is! The Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Lo & Behold® Purple Haze Butterfly Bush (Buddleia x 'Purple Haze') erupts with bluish-purple, fragrant flowers that last from summer into fall!
This dwarf variety comes alive with butterflies and Hummingbirds. Its petite size is perfect for gardeners who want a Butterfly Bush, but don't want it to take up too much garden real estate. The Lo & Behold® Purple Haze is low-spreading, but its branches reach horizontally outward and become full of airy branches hanging heavy with their nectar-rich blooms.
And these violet blooms are to die for! This plant gets bejeweled in fragrant purple blooms in summer and they last through fall. This Buddleia's rich green aromatic leaves will give your garden a verdant feel all growing season! Growing throughout USDA hardiness zones 5 to 9, growing just 2-3 feet in height and spreads wide to 4-5 feet across.
Planting and Application:
Use this non-invasive for prized groundcover! Purple Haze features horizontal growth that keeps foliage low, making it ideal for areas that need a bit of color and protection with pretty living mulch. Fill wide swaths of sunny garden, with these pretty garden fillers! Let Purple Haze tumble over garden edges and the tops of retaining walls, or use as low facer shrubs to enliven a weary and leggy older foundation planting or evergreen hedge!
If you have the room, the Purple Haze looks stunning when planted in groups as a border or mass planting. Transform that hard-to-mow slope or eroding hillside into a Pollinator and Butterfly garden by planting these low-maintenance gems 3-4 feet apart on center.
Add these vivid low-growing specimens as front-of-the-border accents, or use these easy-to-grow accents as container and planter spillers and fillers! Dying back to their roots in colder climates, warm climates can enjoy these as Cottage Garden accents, Rock Garden water-wise specimens, and Mixed Shrub border woody shrubs! Either way, they're fast-growing focal points that reach full size each year!

You won't have to deadhead this low-maintenance beauty, either. In cold climates, you will want to cut these plants back to the ground before spring because these plants act more like herbaceous perennials.
