How to Grow and Care for Firefox Sedge Grass
Sedge Grasses are easy to plant and get established. For the best performance and color, follow these easy care tips:
Site Selection: Choose a location with full sun to partial shade. Full sun enhances its copper-bronze color. Plant in well-drained soil; it thrives in sandy or rocky conditions but dislikes heavy clay.
Watering: Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots. Once established, it's highly drought-tolerant.
Pruning: Cut back this plant's foliage to a few inches above the ground in early spring to encourage fresh growth. Sedge Grass is a cool-season Grass and can take a break in the heat of the hottest summers and droughts, but still keep its vibrant colors.
Fertilizing: Fertilization is rarely needed. Add a layer of compost in spring to boost growth if desired.
