Curtain Call Deep Rose Japanese Anemone (Anemone x 'Curtain Call Deep Rose') is a fantastic new compact variety of Japanese Anemones! The thick layer of deep rosy-pink petals are so delicate and silken that it’s impossible not to reach out to touch them! Each is highlighted by a fuzzy yellow eye and brilliant yellow stamen that resemble a shower of sparks around the center!
Rich-green toothy leaves form clusters into fantastic little balls of greenery, creating neat and tidy mounds for formal and informal applications around the garden! From these green clumps rise near-black dainty stems that hold the buds and blooms aloft for the butterflies and bees to enjoy!
Curtain Call Deep Rose is perfect for the late summer and fall garden, preferring to bloom later in the season until frost! Even the spent blooms leave behind curious fuzzy little seed heads that look like a cottony round ball with tiny seeds embedded in the fluff!
Planting and Application:
Japanese Anemones are darlings in the woodland, perennial, cottage border and edging plants! These flowers of course are lovely in the border planting and cutting garden! You’ll enjoy many delicate blossoms for bouquets and floral designs! Add to part shade Zen and meditation gardens, or in moist Fairy and Rock gardens, where the nodding blooms and fluttering petals add to the magical effect.
Also known as Windflowers, Anemone flutter beautifully in the breeze! Add to sensory gardens for visual motion and of course their color and soft feel! The dramatic color contrast of the dark wiry stems and bold blooms over their rich mounds of foliage make for a truly beautiful and romantic little perennial plant!
