Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Clouds of showy lavender trusses embrace Perfecto Mundo® Double Purple Azalea (Rhododendron 'NCRX4' PP# 33,205) every spring. You'll be so pleased at the incredible flower density of these tidy, compact reblooming Azaleas!

Amethyst inflorescences feature up to 7 semi-double blooms that seem to glow in your dappled shade garden. Best of all, you'll enjoy additional flower power once again on new wood starting in midsummer and fall.

Planting and Application:

The Perfecto Mundo line of reblooming Azaleas is a true modern triumph; originally developed at North Carolina State University and selected by Proven Winners®. Rest assured, this broad-leaved evergreen shrub has successfully passed rigorous field-testing for reliability, high-performance and disease resistance to common pests like lacebug.

  • Make the most of your patio seating with these ruffled purple bloomers! Keep them in containers or grow them in slightly acidic, well-drained soil.
  • Use one as a perfect specimen to study in a Zen Garden. If you have the space, plant several at the base of large boulders to soften their solidity.
  • Mounded Perfecto Mundo Double Purple Azalea is an exquisite hedge for the east or north side of your home. Plant them three feet apart on center for a low, solid hedge; measuring from the center of one to the center of the next.
  • Wind them "en masse" under partial shade found at woodland edge. They'll be a perfect flowering accent to extend the visual impact of early-blooming Redbud and Flowering Dogwood trees.
  • Orchid-purple flowers play nicely with so many other colors. Revitalize your mixed partial shade borders with months of their soft, complementary hues.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Select the planting site carefully, as Azaleas do best in well-drained soil with 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. In hot summer Zones 9 - 10, give them afternoon shade.

  • Apply a three inch layer of pine straw over the roots to keep them cool and moist; pulling it away from touching the stems. Azaleas shouldn't be planted too deeply...please keep the soil at the same level they grew in at the nursery, or mound up to improve drainage.
  • Supply supplemental water on a regular basis to keep them stress-free. Weed the surrounding areas, as they have shallow, fibrous roots and resent having nearby competition.
  • Prune after the first blooms are finished to shape them in spring. Apply a quality fertilizer designed for ericaceous flowering plants and follow the label instructions.
