To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills sells a large variety of plants with several options available. Plants are offered in both potted containers and as dormant bare root without soil. Here is a helpful resource to understand your options as you create a beautiful landscape with help from Nature Hills.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

Sweet, stunning dwarf wildflower! Add the showy whimsy of Little Lanterns Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis 'Little Lanterns'). A marvelous choice for shady spots, Little Lanterns are an improved, compact variety of the beloved wildflower. These low-growing perennials make a cheerful sight with their rich red and golden-yellow blooms. Enjoy their intricate spring blooms for many weeks!
The nodding flowers are raised high above the deeply lobed mound of fine-textured foliage on slender stalks. The pretty flowers feature five sepals that stretch backward over the true petals. Little Lanterns' sepals are a brilliant red with curving spurs, while the petals and stamens underneath are a buttery yellow. Your winter-hungry eyes will be thrilled to see their vivid hues!
Hummingbirds and butterflies love the nectar easily accessed in the hollow spurs with knobbed tips. Children are also very intrigued by these "Fairy Flowers". They'll also grow well in the shade of taller spring-blooming perennials like Peony or Bleeding Heart. #ProPlantTips for Care:
Little Lanterns need no more than four to six hours of sunlight a day. They will not do well in full sun except in cooler USDA growing zones of 3 to 5, but in zones 6 to 8, please provide a spot in partial or afternoon shade.
Perennial Columbines prefer rich, well-drained soil. Add Nature Hills Root Booster according to the directions to supply beneficial mycorrhizal fungus for life-long benefits to the tiny feeder roots. Provide a moderate amount of water on a regular basis, especially for new installations. In the wild, these plants can display drought tolerance, but we recommend that you consistently give them water for the best results. Mulch over the roots, but please ensure that no mulch directly touches the stems. Pull it back away from the crown of the plant.
Deadhead as flowers fade to encourage a rebloom, and trim back the foliage when the leaves start to decline in late summer. Allow them to reseed as they will, following the whims of Mother Nature. Transplant the new seedlings to new areas as you like. The foliage can die back by the end of summer, so be sure to include larger plants nearby.
