Golden Native Love Soggy Soil Golden Ragwort!
- Bright Yellow Ray Flowers
- Unique Scalloped & Heart-Shaped Foliage
- Naturalizing Clumps
- Low Maintenance Native Plant
- Tolerates Wet Soil
- Shady Blooming Groundcover
Lovely native Golden Ragwort (Packera aurea) also known as Golden Groundsel or Squaw Weed, are bright perennials that tolerate wet soil!
Golden-yellow daisy-like flowers rise above green clumps of unique foliage. Oval basal leaves have rounded, toothed edges, sporting purple undersides, while foliage on the flowering stems is cut-leaf and heart-shaped, giving the plant a unique contrasting appearance.
Typically found in forests, along stream beds and ponds and flowering all spring through late summer, these provide nectar and pollen for beneficial pollinators!
How to Use Golden Ragwort In The Landscape
Tolerating wet soil, these sunny blossoms thrive along ponds and water features, or Rain gardens and where the gutters drain!
Fantastic in average garden soils throughout your Perennial and Pollinator gardens, Ragwort freely naturalizes in its native habitat, creating wonderful groundcover and large colonies.
Basal leaves are semi-evergreen, accenting borders, edging and Cottage and Wildflower gardens alike!
#ProPlantTips For Care
Tolerating a wide range of conditions, from full sun in moist, cool sites to full shade in the hotter zones of 3-8, Ragwort thrives in everything in between.
Preferring slightly acidic, rich, moist soils that are well-drained, they handle periodic flooding. Even sometimes found in dry sites once established.
