Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Bloom PeriodLate Spring, Summer

Growing Zones 8-11
For snow-white fireworks in hot climates, you'll love the gorgeous evergreen Getty White Lily of the Nile (Agapanthus praecox ssp. orientalis 'Getty White') to add pizzazz everywhere in the landscape! Bees, Butterflies and Hummingbirds are attracted to these blooms and show up in droves to sip the nectar!
Lily of the Nile forms clumps of strappy, deep green, fountain-like leaves that fill in thickly at the base of the plant and add soft texture and motion to the garden year-round. In spring each plant shoots up several strong stalks up to 18-24 inches high from the middle of the clumps. Each stalk holds a round umbel of dozens of pure white trumpet-shaped flowers.
Blooming in late spring or summer, Getty White is well-mannered and doesn't leave any sort of mess or cause a fuss. She's neat and tidy without aggressively spreading, forming lovely clumps 2-3 feet wide. The deep-green leaves won't shrink in the heat or humidity and their compact habit won't let you down.
Planting and Application:
Getty White handles the heat and bright reflected light off of pool areas and pavement like a champ. Tuck into modern zen gardens, Rock Gardens, and in pots and planters throughout any sunny area! You'll enjoy easy elegance and bright color and form! Cut flower gardens need these blooms for big focal points and fragrance too!
These are excellent in containers and will fit into existing and established borders or beds with ease. They work well in just about any garden style from modern to informal and are one of the plants that add class and elegance with ease! Use in pollinator borders or around a swimming pool, in straight rows or graceful curves and showy clusters to maximize their beauty!
- Big Clusters of Trumpet-Shaped White Blooms
- Evergreen in Warm Climates, Perennial Bulb in Cooler Zones
- Wide Clumps of Strappy Dark Green Leaves
- Fits Small Gardens & Perfect for Containers
- Beds, Borders, Pollinators, Hummingbirds & General Garden Accents!
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant African Lily Agapanthus in full sun and partial shade for the best blooms. Plant in any well-drained moderately moist soil, but once established, Agapanthus are water-wise and xeric plants! One thing they despise is soggy soil, so ensure good drainage at all times. It's always a good idea to consider mulching around the bottom of your plant. It helps keep the roots cool on the hot summer days which also helps conserve water! Not to mention it makes gardens look so prim and proper! Simply apply a layer of mulch starting about one inch from the base of the plant.
Hardy in the ground or container year-round throughout USDA growing zones 8-11, remaining evergreen. However in cooler climates, these may be used in pots and brought indoors for the winter, or treat Agapanthus as you would Dahlia or Elephant Ears and dig them up and store them for the winter in a protected area.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Water-Wise Once Established
- Well-Drained Soil of Any Type
- Prune Back Foliage in Early Spring to Clean Mound
- Tender Bulb/Evergreen in Mild-Winter Areas
