Clearly a hardy plant

Clearly a hardy plant. Arrived in the box already trying to bloom, and was blooming within a week!

A daylily trying to bloom before it even gets out of the box is a good sign of a healthy, established root system. Happy Returns is a reliable rebloomer, so once it settles in you can expect flowers all the way into fall. Thanks for sharing that, and enjoy the show this season.

great perennial

very good performer with numerous flowers appearing in early summer, and getting ready to rebloom now in middle august, very easy to grow in NE clay soil, and also very tidy looking plant with smaller height.

Dear brianandjill,

We're delighted to hear that it's thriving in your NE clay soil and blooming beautifully both in early summer and again in August. Its tidy size certainly makes it a wonderful addition to many gardens, and knowing it's easy to grow on your property is fantastic feedback.

If you ever want to encourage even more bloom cycles, consider providing some light feeding with a balanced fertilizer early in the growing season and ensuring consistent moisture, especially during dry spells. Dear Brianandjill,

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with the Happy Returns Daylily! We’re delighted to hear that it’s performing so well in your Northeast clay soil and providing you with such a lovely, tidy look. Its ability to rebloom in August is definitely one of its charming qualities, and it sounds like it’s truly thriving in your garden.

If you’re ever looking to enhance its performance even more, making sure the soil is well-draining and adding a bit of compost can further encourage blooms. And since you value the plant’s neat stature, occasional light removal of spent blooms will help keep it looking fresh and vigorous throughout the season.

Thank you again for your thoughtful review—it’s feedback like yours that helps fellow gardeners make confident planting decisions!
