Growing Zones 4-8
The Vision in Pink Astilbe (Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in Pink') has clear soft pink plumes that light up shady garden spaces in early to mid-summer! The big fluffy spires, Astilbe is admired for its elegant flower plumes that attract bees, butterflies, and even hummingbirds!
But you and your pollinators will enjoy the bold flowers for weeks! The summer lacy deep green attractive coarsely textured, blue-green foliage adds a ferny texture to garden beds long after the blooms have faded!
The Vision series is more sun and drought-tolerant than other Astilbes! Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 4-8 and can grow up to 24 - 30 inches tall when in bloom! These ornamental tall flowers look as great in the garden as they will in your cutting gardens and bouquets! Snip them as they start to dry, and bring them indoors for cut flower bouquets. Once finished, hang them upside down to dry for a durable dried arrangement that looks incredible until next year.
Landscape Application:
These mid-summer blooming beauties are ideal for borders, containers, and gardens on the edge of woodlands! For maximum color and impact, mass Vision Astilbe in Pink in groups in partly shaded gardens, though this can tolerate full sun in cooler areas and needs more shade in hotter or drier conditions.
This Vision in Pink's dwarf size makes it a must-have addition to smaller urban gardens, putting on a grand display in shaded cutting gardens, mixed perennial borders beneath larger trees or shrubs, and throughout the outskirts of your rain gardens and water features!
Little Vision in Pink turns any old "ho-hum" shady corner into a splendid focal point. Now, how about finally jazzing up your boring side yard? Carve out a special place to sit and read that juicy summer novel.
When you use Vision in Pink Astilbe as a 'filler' and 'thriller' in a container combination you will be amazed at how she compliments the larger plants! Gorgeous in pots on a shady deck or balcony. Create a perfect early display with one as a specimen exterior container. As the blooms fade, change them out and plant them in your landscape.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
This versatile perennial can take full sun in cooler zones if Astilbe receives good moisture and mulch. Otherwise, give it a part shade or full shade for warmer zones. Astilbes are grown most successfully in rich, well-drained soil. The biggest key to the successful growth of your Astilbes is water! They require a lot of it! The soil must remain moist. If the soil dries out these perennials will falter quickly, especially in the sun and hotter growing zones.
You'll also want to use Nature Hills Root Booster beneficial soil additives when planting. This formula contains mycorrhizal fungus, which supports the tiny feeder roots to efficiently access water and soil micronutrients. Over time, enrich your soil with mulch and top-dressings of compost. Apply a phosphorus-rich, slow-release fertilizer in early spring. Ensure the formula is for flowering plants and apply according to the directions.
Vision Astilbe will do best in a relatively sheltered location. Consider applying a thick layer of mulch around the root zone for the growing season to conserve soil moisture. Wait to cut the foliage back until spring, as that will protect the plant during the winter. Fertilize Astilbes in late spring before the flowers emerge.
That's it! Water, mulch, and a once-a-year trimming!
