Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Shade-Tolerant Floral Shrub

Sixteen Candles Summersweet is a deciduous shrub with ornamental features. Plant a few of these in a naturalized area, especially near a stream or water garden. Sixteen Candles would also look outstanding in that shady spot in your yard where you'd like a splash of color.

Your Sixteen Candles will amaze you with its 6-inch long spikes of delicate blossoms that reach out amid the dark green foliage in mid-to late summer. The pristine white flowers are variable in orientation, with some gently arching, upright or horizontal.

The effect of the tall, straight spikes of blooms creates an appearance reminiscent of "candles" (thus the name). Each floral spike exudes a delightful fragrance, a popular draw for your yard's pollinator. Sixteen Candles' 4-inch leaves are toothed and oblong with an ornamental, glossy sheen. Transitioning to yellow and brown hues for fall, the foliage adds one last gasp of color for your yard.

Sixteen Candles Summersweet is a relatively low maintenance and hardy shrub with no significant disease or insect issues. Sixteen Candles Summersweet is adaptive to a variety of conditions and quite shade tolerant. In fact, it tends to prefer shady, moist conditions.

Sixteen Candles Summersweet is a lovely shrub with a lot to offer. Especially if you have a shady or moist spot in your yard, this shrub is a perfect choice to spice things up. Try one today!
