Fluffy domes of baby pink blooms bring joy to the garden! Adorable bundles of pastel hues, the Proven Winners® Rock 'N Round™ has introduced the Pure Joy Sedum (Sedum x 'Pure Joy') that features baby soft, fluffy texture and subtle color!
Like all Stonecrop, Sedum has succulent, waxy foliage and Pure Joy forms low-growing even domes of color from spring until autumn! Dense and evenly distributed mounds are completely smothered in fluffy blooms and subsequently hungry pollinators and butterflies too!
Starting a pale green, Pure Joy has blooms that slowly turn a soft dome of bubblegum pink! These blooms are a favorite nectar resource for pollinators! The strong stems mean these blooms stand up to rain and storms and are also amazingly unique cut flowers for your bouquets.
This perennial Sedum has glossy, light-green foliage that is thick and fleshy, growing up to a foot tall and 16-20" wide throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9. These gorgeous domes add lovely filler and texture when interspersed around your other garden finery. Sturdy growing perennials, Sedum is able to stand up to the full sun without shrinking. Pure Joy's flower heads have equally dense growth and amazing softness and character.
Blooming through summer into early fall, these blooms don't let up color until frost however, that's when the blooms dry on the plant to provide unique winter interest. You can prune these blooms off for a clean winter appearance, and use them as dried flowers. Or even leave the seed heads alone for both winter interest and food for songbirds!
Planting and Application:
Pure Joy creates a tranquil, smooth mound, which means this Sedum creates an incredibly unique border! Define your beds from your lawn, edge garden borders, and line your walkways. Planting in rows or blocks further amplifies the curious growth habit!
Their unusual, subtly colored blooms add formal structure, as well as work beautifully in Zen and Asian-inspired gardens. Pollinator Gardens and Rock Gardens both benefit from these curious plants' unique shape as they spill and ramble over the stones!
Sedum are incredibly resilient and amazing for Xeriscaping and Firescaping, these are tough and hardy enough for both residential or commercial settings. You can also try a staggered zig-zag to create a mass planting on a slope or a large bare patch. The plants will create a low-maintenance groundcover, and look especially unique when mixed and matched with other Rock 'N™ Sedum varieties like Coraljade or Back in Black!
Any sunny bed and Cottage garden will become more delightful with Sedum. Pure Joy's sturdy stems can also be used as cut flowers and dried décor. The soft pink blooms mingle with your perennial plants and are an amazing filler and spiller addition to containers!
Growing in defiance of the sun without wilting, drought-tolerant Pure Joy fills your sunny beds with tranquil color all growing season. Plant en masse to fill hot sunny locations, shrugging off rocky, gravel-filled spots, while the structural and architectural texture makes these eye-catching plants really stand out!
The attractive foliage is drought and salt-tolerant so plant these in that 'hell strip' along the road, and those in coastal areas can enjoy Sedum near ocean spray without worry. Easy to grow, they are perfect for gardeners of all experience levels!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Full sun plants like Pure Joy Sedum, tolerate heat and sun all summer without fail. Handling some part sun in hotter climates. Not particular about soil type, Sedum prefers average moisture and any kind of well-drained soil, and can also tolerate poor or rocky soils with ease. In fact, Sedum grown in organically rich soil are actually lanky and weak-stemmed. These adaptable, hardy perennials bloom from late summer through autumn.
All perennial Sedum hybrids have very low moisture needs and are extremely cold hardy in growing zones 3 through 9. You can add a 3-4 inch thick layer of arborist mulch to the base to help keep moisture more regulated and enrich the soil. These deer and rabbit-resistant plants require very little maintenance and little fertilizer. Pest and disease-free, Sedum benefits from division every few years and trimming all stems to the ground each spring removing dead debris.
- Easy Care & Low Maintenance in Full Sun
- Grows In Average, Well-Drained & Even Poor Soil
- Moderate to Low Soil Moisture Once Established
- Prune Back Early Spring
- Drought, Salt & Heat Tolerant
The lovely domed and spreading mounds of the Proven Winners® Rock 'N Round™ Pure Joy Sedum will fill your sun-scorched landscape with baby-pink blooms! Order yours from Nature Hills Nursery today!
