You may have heard of the Pugster Pink® Butterfly Bush which was an innovative smaller fluffier Buddleia form with tons of appeal! But wait until you check out its newest family member!
The Proven Winner® ColorChoice® Pugster Pinker® Butterfly Bush (Buddleia x 'SMNBDPT') takes all the pretty perks of Pugster Pink® but then shows off with even pinker blooms! The hot pinkish magenta will pop in your yard and leave the neighbors to stop and stare! Pugster Pinker® is a happy, bright pink that will draw your attention from all over the garden.
What would a Butterfly Bush be without its entourage of butterflies? Many varieties will show up for the long-lasting nectar feast - along with plenty of bees and even Hummingbirds! You will enjoy these brilliant blooms indoors where you can be captivated by their sweet fragrance up close and personal! Go ahead and cut armloads of the flowers. The stems are strong and thick and perfect for cutting.
The bright green aromatic foliage acts as a gorgeous background to the bright pink blooms. You'll love this contrast. This smaller growing Butterfly Bush will grow to 18-24 inches in height and spread 2-2 ½ feet wide. Just because this is a smaller Butterfly Bush doesn't mean the blooms are smaller.
Do you want to know the best thing? Even though the plants are dwarf, the flowers are anything but! These little beauties are covered with full-sized panicles of honey-scented blooms all summer and into the fall just like the bigger plants are - and like all Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Buddleias there is no deadheading required to keep them blooming all season for you!
Planting and Application:
Butterfly Bushes are an excellent companion for any yard! The possibilities are endless with this bush. Plant among other perennials or flowering shrubs and turn any Cottage garden, Rock garden, or Perennial border into a pollinator garden! Add plenty of color and butterflies to your mixed shrub borders or foundation hedges!
People use the Pugster Pinker® Butterfly Bush most commonly for mass plantings because of their easy-to-grow and low-maintenance nature! Enjoy colorful low hedges, facer plants, and pops of color, you can really get creative with this versatile plant!
Wonderful accents in any part of the sunny landscape, the candy pink spires of blooms seem to enhance all other plant colors and all garden styles! Small and compact enough for Container gardeners and porch planters and dressing up a sunny front porch!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
The Pugster Pinker® Butterfly Bush thrives in zones 5-9 and is wonderfully easy-care! You'll be an expert grower in no time. Provide your Pugster Pinker® Butterfly Bush with a full sun location! The bright colors will amaze you when the sunlight hits them! Provide well-drained soil for this bush so the soil doesn't trap the moisture and drown your precious roots. New shrubs need regular moisture but established shrubs can be water-wise and add to a fire-wise landscaping plan! Provide a mulched bed and supplemental moisture for the best display.
Many gardeners question when to prune Butterfly Bushes. Butterfly Bush pruning is important so the bush grows back yearly with full and healthy blooms. Prune back all stems hard each spring just before it starts to grow again! If you live in a colder zone, it may act as a Perennial and die down all the way during the frosts and quickly regrow from the roots, not to worry - these flowering ornamentals grow quickly!
- Full Sun Is Best
- Moderate to Lower, Yet Consistent Soil Moisture
- Enriched, Very Well-Drained Soil & Appreciates Mulched Beds
- Deadhead Often For Rebloom
- Prune Back in Early Spring
- Deer Seldom Bother It
