Growing Zones 5-9
Never before has there been a more perfect patio container plant. The Petite™ Knock Out® Miniature Rose (Rosa 'Meibenbino') is the same beautiful color and easy care as the original, but a miniature version! Unlike some other Roses, these blossoms won't fade and this is a modern Rose bush that is self-cleaning. They'll stay that glorious fire engine red we all know and love. The uses for these pretty red space-saving flowers are endless!
Each spring, you'll be greeted with lush red Rose blossoms covering dark green foliage. This is quite reminiscent of the original Knock Out® collection with one difference, it's small enough to fit anywhere! The size doesn't affect the classic Rose fragrance though! These blooms will perfume the air and give you another reason to stop and smell the flowers!
You'll be pleasantly surprised year after year at this Rose bush's long bloom time. From late spring all the way to fall, you can count on Petite™ Knock Out® for fantastic flower power! It's no secret that Roses are a pollinator's favorite! Butterflies will add their own flair to the already stunning blossoms with their intricately colored wings. Sit back and watch the winged spectacle parade through your garden!

Do you already have a Rose garden that could use something front and center that won't grow tall enough to disrupt the larger bushes behind? That's where you can bring in Petite™ Knock Out®! Spruce up the foundation planting that may have gotten a bit leggy or you are tired of the year-round green of your evergreens.
Use one to create a showy accent in your perennial garden or plant in clumps for a truly breathtaking mini-groundcover. The smaller nature of this Rose bush makes it a great border specimen. Plant along the sunny side of your home or in the front yard to mark the edge of your walkway or garden. Pollinator gardens and cottage borders, walkway gardens, and along your driveway - the choice is yours!
The garden is a great place to plant these but Petite™ Knock Out® Rose shines brightest in containers and planters. Potting one up and placing it on your patio will make for a spectacular centerpiece! #ProPlantTips for Care:
Sure Petite™ Knock Out® gives the impression of being delicate with its small stature but it's strong and sturdy. But in reality, it's the perfect easy-to-care-for, low-maintenance plant that gives back tenfold in beauty! This small but mighty addition is disease-resistant and quite drought-tolerant once established. So while your neighbors are fussing and fretting about their own Rose gardens, you'll be relaxing and enjoying those beautiful summer days.
You'll want to plant in a sunny spot where Petite™ Knock Out® can bask in the full sun's rays all day long! It'll also appreciate rich, well-drained soil. Provide a 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch for moisture retention and insulation around the root system.
While other flower bushes might need continual deadheading and general cleanup through the season, the Petite is just fine being left alone. It's self-cleaning and will drop its flowers as they get done blooming, talk about easy! Provide good air circulation and proper site selection for Rose's growing success.
If you feel like it, try using a balanced fertilizer formulated for roses. It's important to remember not to use fertilizers while these roses are still establishing. Let them go through a bloom cycle first. Once you've had Petite™ Knock Out® for a year or two, you can apply the fertilizer after the first wave of flowering.
Compact and rarely requiring trimming, if needed prune your Rose in early spring just after you see new leaf buds swelling. For more about pruning Roses Here, and about winterizing your Roses Here and un-wintering Roses in Spring, check out our #ProPlantTips Garden Blog!
