Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Pristine Perfecto Mundo® Double White Azalea (Rhododendron 'NCRX5') always looks impeccably poised with glorious masses of cloud-like double blooms in spring. An excellent reblooming cultivar provides a lush flower display again in midsummer on new wood that continues through fall.

Get more flower power for your investment with a much longer season of crisp, polished snow-white flowering trusses. Count on the glamorous Perfecto Mundo line, which was developed at North Carolina State University and selected by Proven Winners® only after rigorous and extensive field trials had been successfully completed for high performance.

Planting and Application:

A densely branched and slightly spreading growth habit makes Double White Azalea a very versatile flowering broad-leaved evergreen shrub for many garden applications. These vigorous, healthy and disease resistant Azaleas aren't bothered by common pests like lacebug

  • Light up your partial shade mixed garden borders in dappled shade. Compact, tidy with very dark green foliage, Double White adds a sophisticated mid-layer to your design.
  • They provide steady, reliable color and welcome structure any time of year. And who can forget the effervescent visual appeal of the frothy white blooms during the growing season?
  • Plant them three feet apart on center for a low, solid hedge. You'll measure from the center of one to the center of the next.
  • Run a Perfecto Mundo Double White Azalea hedge in front of your evergreen Yews or Hollies for an easy-care dash of panache. They can elevate the tone of partial shade-tolerant, pollinator-friendly natives like Dogwood, Serviceberry and Witch Hazel, too.
  • Of course, you can also keep Double White Azaleas in outdoor garden containers for many years with proper care. Imagine how chic a series of matched pots would look spread equidistantly along your north or east-facing terrace.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Select your planting site carefully, as Azaleas do best in well-drained soil with 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. In hot USDA Zones 9 - 10, give them afternoon shade, or mulch well in sunnier spots.

  • They need slightly acidic soil with a lower pH to perform at their best; apply a three inch layer of pine straw over the roots to keep them cool and moist. It's best not to plant Azaleas too deeply...keep the soil at the same level they grew in at the nursery, or mound up to improve drainage.
  • Protect your investment with a moderate amount of supplemental water given on a regular basis. Keep the surrounding area free of weeds, as their shallow roots resent having nearby competition.
  • Prune to shape right after the first flush of blooms is finished in spring. Apply a quality ericaceous flowering plant fertilizer according to the label instructions.
