Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

The Midas Touch of Evergreens Golden Hinoki False Cypress

  • Green-Gold Feather-Like Needles
  • Easy to Shape With Light Pruning
  • Fantastic for Privacy Screens
  • Deer Resistant

No need to have the Midas touch to add a splash of golden delight to your garden. The Golden Hinoki False Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Crippsi) does that all on it's own! Whether you're looking for a colorful background choice for your flower beds or want to cover up a garden eyesore, the feathery sprays are the perfect solution!

Golden Hinoki False Cypress are a loosely conical shape of golden green needles. The needles are quite soft, so no need to worry about getting poked by a stray branch!

This specimen is a relatively petite plant, so growing them in urban areas without much room works like a charm! They are easy to shape into the space they are growing with periodic sheering. This makes them incredibly useful when filling in a suburban yard or wanting to cover a small amount of space with a large amount of color!

The landscape uses for this plant are extensive. Plant one by itself for a pop of gold or in groups of two or three for a larger impact. Add a Golden Hinoki False Cypress to the back of a perennial flower bed to create a beautiful backdrop that catches the evening sunset like none other.

Another common use for the Golden Hinoki False Cypress is in lines near edges of the property as a privacy screen. It is deer resistant, so neighbors will love the look and wildlife will leave the trees alone!

This evergreen tree does it's best in an area with full sun. It will tolerate partial shade, but the more sun the lighter the needles. It also prefers well drained soil. Protecting from harsh winds is advised as this specimen can sometimes be affected by wind burn.

Take the golden hours of sunset to the next level with Golden Hinoki False Cypress. Its gorgeous golden needles and delicate looking conical shape give the tree character that lasts all four seasons. Order one to complete your cottage garden look today!
