To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Bare Root Plants
Bare root plants are sold by height from the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may exceed minimum height requirements.

- Shrubs & Perennials: 1 foot, 18 inches, 2 feet

Gorgeous Vintage Gold False Cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Vintage Gold') False Cypress is a marvelous, compact growing evergreen with bright yellow and graceful foliage that holds its color all year! Featuring flattened bolden sprays of soft-to-the-touch branching to create a finely-textured mounded form.
Its fern-like dense foliage grows into a broad mounded form and seems to spray out in all directions like a fountain of bright green and gold! The color holds throughout the entire year, through heat and cold.
Cold-tolerant, Vintage Gold Cypress grows throughout USDA planting 4 to 8, these are very easy to grow and highly low-maintenance!
Landscape Application:
This dwarf-form False Cypress is perfect for smaller settings and is a great choice since it adds an extremely fine and delicate texture to the landscape! Not only a beautiful container specimen and accent, but are also incredibly used for Bonsai!
Growing 18 - 30 inches tall, these fountain-like bright gold shrubs are fantastic foundation plants that light up darker evergreens as a facer plant, or as the foundation hedge themselves! #ProPlantTips for Care
Vintage Gold prefers full sun or very light shade, in well-drained soil and prefers humid environments. In hotter climates, choose a more protected location with a bit of afternoon shade to avoid any scorching that can occur. In colder climates, if winter winds are bitter and strong, choose a location that protects the branching from the drying northern winds. Plant in a well-drained site with moderate moisture access.
Your Vintage Gold will be a relatively low-maintenance Hinoki False Cypress, and if any pruning is needed, it is recommended to trim back the new growth of the current season and remove any dieback. Higher on the deer resistance lists, in high deer pressure areas, it's recommended you spray with a deer repellant.
