Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

EverBloom™ Watermelon Ice Dianthus (Dianthus x 'G18139') are silvery green perennial plants in the Carnation family that cover themselves in a mound of bright light and dark pink blooms! Each toothy petal looks fringed and frosted nearly white on the edges, and are wide open to attract the maximum amount of pollinators! Delightfully scented they tickle the nose!

The soft sagey-blue to silvery-green mounds and small slender foliage are almost continuously slathered in watermelon pink flowers from late spring until fall with some mindful deadheading to encourage new flushes of flowers. Watch for bees, butterflies, and Hummingbirds to stop by!

EverBloom™ Dianthus have near continuous blooms! Compact, hardy perennials in USDA growing zones 4- 9, and in mild winters can be evergreen to semi-evergreen! Low-growing accents, Dianthus only reach 6-8 inches when in bloom and spread politely to an 18-24 inch mound.

Planting and Application:

Watermelon Ice Dianthus are classic cottage and perennial garden accents and edging! En masse, they act as low-growing groundcover and flowering living mulch anywhere in the sun garden! Garden Pinks delight you with pollinators and tiny cut flower stems for nosegays and bud vases!

Xeric enough to tolerate Rock gardens and as sunny edging along paths and walkways, use these smaller space-saving blooms in your crevice gardens, atop retaining walls, or as facer plants at the front of the garden border. They're also delightful in mixed or massed containers on your porch, patio, and around a sunny deck!

  • Toothy Petals in Near White, Light & Dark Pink!
  • Spicy Carnation Family Scent
  • Bluish-Silvery Green Foliage
  • Low-Growing Mounded Form
  • Rock & Crevice Gardens, Containers, Edging & Groundcover

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Dianthus, aka Garden Pinks, need full sun and sharply drained soils to do their best. Provide enough water to establish, and then only supplemental moisture in extreme conditions. A 3-4 inch layer of arborist mulch helps in the hottest climates and coldest winters by adding insulation. Deadhead after blooms fade, and prune mounds in late winter or early spring to clean the mounds of dead foliage.

  • Full Sun
  • Very Well-Drained Soils
  • Moderate to Low Moisture
  • Deadhead After Flowering & Prune Early Spring
  • Deer Resistant

Delightful Garden Pinks, the EverBloom™ Watermelon Ice Dianthus will be you and your pollinator's new best friend! Order scented space-saving perennials today from NatureHills.com!
