I paid full price for them. Now they go on sale, it looks like half of a tree the way they were caught.

We truly appreciate your honesty and understand how disappointing it can be to receive a tree that doesn’t reflect the full, vibrant quality you hoped for—especially after paying full price. Nature Hills continues to amaze me on their shipping as well as quality of their plants and trees. Ordered 2 of these 2-3' trees (they are closer to 3'), and they arrived in a box about 5 feet high. Everything was secure and no damage (except one bud was damaged). They were wrapped together with plastic and twine with even my name attached to the bundle. The trees are bare rooted and are soaking outside for planting tomorrow morning. The trees aren't a single dead-looking sprig, but each has 3 offshoot branches, abundantly full of buds. Most are already showing life and greening. I look forward to being their "parent" in the two patio planters out back. So far, totally pleased with my purchase and with the quality of the trees.

Your nurturing approach with planting them in patio planters sounds perfect for Bonfire Peach Trees, as they truly flourish with appropriate care and plenty of sunlight. Frequently Asked Questions

What USDA hardiness zones is the Country Sweet Peach suitable for?

  • Country Sweet Peach thrives in USDA zones 5 through 8. It needs 800 to 900 chill hours to fruit properly, making it well-suited for temperate regions from the mid-Atlantic through the Midwest. Choose this variety if your area gets consistent winter cold.

What are the planting requirements for Country Sweet Peach, like soil type and spacing?

  • Country Sweet Peach grows 12-15 feet tall and wide, thriving in zones 5-8 with 800-900 chill hours. Plant in well-draining soil with full sun, spacing trees 15-20 feet apart to allow for mature canopy spread. Shop at Nature Hills for healthy bare-root or potted trees.

How do I care for a Country Sweet Peach tree, including watering and fertilizing?

  • Country Sweet Peach trees thrive in zones 5-8 with full sun and well-draining soil. Water deeply once weekly during growing season, increasing during fruit development. Fertilize in early spring with balanced fruit tree fertilizer and prune annually to maintain an open vase shape.

Is the Country Sweet Peach self-pollinating, or does it need another variety?

  • Country Sweet Peach is self-fertile and doesn't require a second tree for pollination. However, planting another compatible peach variety nearby can boost fruit set during springs when poor weather limits bee activity during bloom.

What is the mature size and shape of the Country Sweet Peach tree?

  • Country Sweet Peach trees grow 12 to 15 feet tall and wide with a spreading, moderately vigorous habit. With annual pruning to maintain an open vase shape, the tree stays manageable for home lots while producing a full canopy. Shop at Nature Hills for this self-fertile variety.

What pests and diseases affect Country Sweet Peach, and how do I control them?

  • Country Sweet Peach faces typical stone fruit issues like peach leaf curl, brown rot, and oriental fruit moth in zones 5-8. Apply dormant copper spray in late winter before the March bloom period to prevent fungal diseases. Use integrated pest management with pheromone traps and properly timed sprays during the growing season.

Does Country Sweet Peach ship bare root or in containers, and when is the best shipping time?

  • Country Sweet Peach trees typically ship bare root during dormant season (late winter to early spring) for optimal establishment. Container plants may be available for spring through fall shipping in zones 5-8. Plant bare root trees immediately after last frost for best results in your area.

Is Country Sweet Peach suitable for my full-sun location with well-draining soil?

  • Country Sweet Peach thrives in full sun and well-draining soil conditions. This variety grows 12-15 feet tall and wide, performing best in zones 5-8 with 800-900 chill hours. Plant in your sunniest spot with good drainage for optimal fruit production.
