The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Clematis Care & Maintenance
Clematis are easy to grow and maintain! It's worth taking the time to find the right spot. Plant with Nature Hills Root Booster for life-long, non-stop to help the root system access nutrients from the soil.
- Sunlight: Leaves thrive in full sun, while roots prefer partial shade. In hot climates (Zone 9), plant in the morning sun with afternoon shade.
- Soil: Requires well-drained soil that stays moist but not waterlogged. Consider using a planting mound or raised bed in poorly draining areas.
- Watering: Apply moderate, consistent water, and allow excess to drain. Mulch around the roots to maintain cool soil conditions.
- Pruning Group 3: Blooms on new wood, allowing for hard pruning each year. Trim dead growth back to live buds in early spring, leaving about six inches of healthy stems. Prune at a 45-degree angle.
- Low Maintenance: Clematis are easy to care for and long-lived!
