Arborvitae means "tree of life", which attests to the hardy nature of this evergreen tree. You won't have to worry about it surviving ice storms or heavy snow. It's a selection that is native to North America and has flexible branches that bend - even with heavy snowfalls.

Birds and wildlife will love Green Giant for cover. Although many list this plant as deer-proof, it may depend upon the deer pressure and available food in any area. It is reported that as the plant ages, the deer seem to leave it alone.
