Description
Alocasia Amazonica 'Polly' is the classic African Mask plant, a cultivar of the hybrid Alocasia x mortfontanensis bred from Alocasia longiloba and Alocasia sanderi. Large, glossy, arrowhead-shaped leaves in medium to dark green are laced with silvery-green veins and undulating margins, and the undersides carry a hint of purple.
'Polly' grows as a clumping, rhizomatous perennial that stays compact, topping out around 2 feet tall, which keeps it manageable on a plant stand or console table. Give it bright, indirect light and even moisture and it fills out steadily through the growing season. Outdoors it is hardy only in USDA zones 10 through 12, so it lives as a houseplant almost everywhere else.
'Polly' is the larger of the two well-known Amazonica cultivars, distinct from the smaller 'Bambino.' Browse the rest of our Houseplants collection for more easy-care picks, and check the Nature Hills Garden Blog for more indoor growing guides. Keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
Order your Alocasia Amazonica 'Polly' today and grow with the confidence of Nature Hills' full plant guarantee.
