Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Growing Zones 4-8
The Peach Blossom Astilbe (Astilbe x 'Peach Blossom') is a brilliant pink blooming, handsome plant for the perennial border. It produces masses of fully pink, feathery flower plumes and has fern-like lacy dark green foliage.
The Astilbe is admired for its attractive foliage and elegant, airy flower plumes rising up two feet, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. Throughout the remainder of the summer, lacy deep green, mounded foliage adds ferny texture to garden beds, long after the blooms have faded. Be sure to harvest some of the blooms before they fade, as they make excellent cut flowers for arrangements!
Hardy to heat and chill throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 8, growing into a neat and tidy 18 - 24 inches in height and 15 - 18 inches in width! The lacy clumps of finely cut foliage look great all on their own and remain disease and pest-resistant all growing season long!
Landscape Application:
These late spring into summer, blooming beauties are ideal for borders, containers, and gardens on the edge of woodland gardens, and shady pathway edges! The fringy foliage lights up and softens the edges of hardscapes and eases the transition between lawn and garden bed!
Pot up these tidy and lacy fillers and thrillers into your mixed pots and container gardens, or specimen planters around your shaded garden seating areas, covered porches and patios, and shaded balcony gardens where these easy-to-grow perennials shine!
Perfect Pollinator garden plants, bees, and butterflies flock to the summer gardens. But Peach Blossom Astilbe also adds a dreamy quality to your Cottage Gardens, mixed Perennial borders, and around the outskirts of water features where Astilbe loves the higher moisture locations.

#ProPlantTips for Care:
You can plant Astilbe varieties in groups in partly shaded gardens for maximum color and impact. Plant in well-drained, organically enriched soil that remains consistently moist throughout the growing season. Astilbe are fairly adaptable to a variety of growing conditions, but they prefer well-drained, but moist and highly organic soil; humusy forest gardens are a perfect example of where these plants will thrive. This is one of the most drought-tolerant Astilbe varieties available!
Add mulch around the plants to help retain moisture during dryer times. Prune back the plants in the early spring, leaving the foliage to protect the crown over the winter. As a clump-forming perennial, it's a good idea to divide the clumps every few years, to prevent overcrowding.
- Perfect for the Partial Shade/Part Sun Garden
- Organically-Rich Well-Drained Soil
- Consistent Moisture
- Cold Hardy & Heat Tolerant
- Prune Early Spring
- Deer & Rabbit Resistant
