Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Are you tired of replanting the annual flowerbed every year? Quick, easy color is good, but what if we could offer you a plant that fills your bed to overflow with flowers that are easier to care for than annuals and get better every year?

Perhaps it's time to replant with Sombrero® Blanco Coneflower (Echinacea x 'Balsomblanc'). These pristine white versions of the native Echinacea purpurea will reliably fill your flower beds yearly from mid-summer until the first frost!

Backed by a mound of dense pointed green leaves and excellent branching, these white daisy-like flowers feature spikey high-domed centers that are a bronzy yellow. Pollinators galore will be stopping by for a visit, grateful for the nectar and pollen resource!

Snipping blooms for bouquets and deadheading as flowers fade will encourage reblooming until frost. However, you should leave some of the brown spikey seedheads on the plant for the winter, because birds love the seeds! Plus, if you leave them to dry on the plant they will add fall and winter interest.

Growing throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 9, Echinacea are wonderfully easy to grow, deer and rabbit-resistant, and embrace the full sun and drier conditions once established. Blanco can reach up to 2 feet in optimal conditions and spread about 20 inches in width when in bloom.

Planting and Application:

These are must-haves for the Moon Garden, butterfly or pollinator gardens, and wildlife gardens! Sombrero® Blanco will brighten the mood of a foundation planting and looks fantastic mixed with other white flowering and white and green variegated plants in the sun garden landscape. These bloom later in the season when bees and butterflies like migrating Monarchs need it most, so create a pollinator waystation to support them!

Besides replacing your annuals, Blanco and other Coneflower are well-suited to mixed Perennial borders, natural meadows, and modernized prairie installations. Firewise and Xeric Gardens benefit from their deep roots and rugged nature! Coneflower are perfect for containers and are stars in the Cutting Garden! Cut as many as you want - they will reflower freely.

Plant a grouping around a birdbath or a ring of white Coneflower around the mailbox in the full sun! Rows look fantastic along a dark evergreen hedge or rock wall. Let these elegant white flowers dance in a Rock Garden with the stones and boulders where they will thrive in the drier, rocky soil.

Have a large area to fill with cheerful white blooms? Coneflower are excellent low-maintenance perennials that are ideal for mass planting, commercial sites, and that hell strip along the sidewalk!

  • Pristine White Flowers & Brozny Yellow Cones
  • Dark Green Foliage & Good Branching
  • Attracts Birds & Butterflies
  • Winter Interest & Wildlife Food Source
  • Dreamy Cut Flowers & Reblooms Until Frost
  • Moon Gardens, Sun Beds & Borders, & Gorgeous Container Specimens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant Sombrero Blanco in full sun and average soil and it will reward you with snow-white blooms all season. Provide a well-drained location of about any kind of soil for your herbaceous perennial to grow in, and new plants need regular water. Try using the Finger Test daily to ensure you are watering the right way.

All plants appreciate being planted with Nature Hills Root Booster for life-long symbiotic root support, and a nice blanketing of 3-4 inches of arborist bark chips.

Once Blanco has become established in your landscape, it is heat, drought, deer and rabbit-resistant and will bring you years of pleasure. It is weather-sturdy, too, bearing summer rain, not bleaching out in the intense full sun, or withering away when there is some drought … all with elegance and finesse!

Deadhead consistently for rebloom until frost, then leave some of the dried seed heads up for the birds. Once they have plucked them thoroughly, prune the entire mound of this perennial back to a couple inches above the ground. Every 3-4 years, it is recommended that you divide your perennial clumps to maintain their flowering vigor.

  • Full Sun
  • Any Well-Drained Soil Type
  • Moderate to Low Moisture Needs
  • Deadhead For Rebloom, Prune Late Fall
  • Deer, Rabbit, Drought, Heat, Sun, & Cold-Tolerant
