Plant Sombrero Blanco in full sun and average soil and it will reward you with snow-white blooms all season. Provide a well-drained location of about any kind of soil for your herbaceous perennial to grow in, and new plants need regular water. Try using the Finger Test daily to ensure you are watering the right way.

Once Blanco has become established in your landscape, it is heat, drought, deer and rabbit-resistant and will bring you years of pleasure. Deadhead consistently for rebloom until frost, then leave some of the dried seed heads up for the birds. Once they have plucked them thoroughly, prune the entire mound of this perennial back to a couple inches above the ground. Every 3-4 years, it is recommended that you divide your perennial clumps to maintain their flowering vigor.
