Bring the look of the tropics home with one of the most incredible new cultivars of showy Angel Trumpet. Foot-long, flaring flowers seem to drip from these special plants.
Snowbank Variegated Angel Trumpet (Brugmansia x ‘Snowbank’ PP# 14,817) is a tropical flowering shrub or small tree. It can also be a houseplant in winter time.
You'll be thrilled with the showy flower power! The enormous blooms deliver the look of the South Seas, and are deliciously fragrant, too.
With a characteristic trumpet-shape, the white blooms are blushed with a sunny yellow tone. You'll get two flushes of flowers...one in mid-summer and again in late summer.
These opulent blooms hang down from the branches for a look of pure romance. Reminiscent of a carillon of big bells, the lovely flower display deepens into a rich apricot as the nights grow a bit cooler.
Even when the blooms are out of season, the exquisite tricolor leaves make an incredible statement. Each is a unique work of natural art, and features wild variation.
On a dark green background, the foliage features light grey-green blotches toward the edge. The large leaves are also painted with a wide, creamy-white border.
Snowbank Variegated Angel Trumpet makes an amazing small accent tree, even when not in bloom. The brilliant foliage display brightens partially shaded areas, and gleams in full sun.
Use them as a delightful specimen plant, or focal point in an outdoor Meditation Garden. Grow them in the ground further South, or keep them in containers.
These tropical plants won't overwinter outside in many areas, but don't let that stop a determined Northern gardener! Keep them in large containers, following instructions in our #ProPlantTips below.
Snowbank Variegated Angel Trumpet is enjoying a red-hot burst of popularity. It's easy to see why!
Our small tree experts love growing these, but we only have a limited inventory. When you see Snowbank Variegated Angel Trumpet in stock on our site, place your order right away.
Gift these special plants as a wonderfully thoughtful present. We'll ship it at just the right time for your area.
How to Use Snowbank Variegated Angel Trumpet in the Landscape
With their swinging, downturned blooms and splashy foliage, these petite trees make an exceptional accent. Even small space gardens can maximize their beauty.
Use them to grace a seating area, or tuck a pair on either side of your entryway. Custom-prune the branches to fit your unique setting in late winter...you'll be so proud of your handiwork!
They make a marvelously decorative backdrop to smaller shrubs and perennials. Select white or yellow-flowering partners; or underplant with a curving row of Apricot Drift® Roses on their sunny side.
For a very sophisticated display, grow several of them in oversized outdoor containers along the length of your patio. Keep them hydrated the easy way with an automated drip irrigation setup.
These beautiful plants make great partners for a collected container garden on a balcony or porch. Add an Improved Dwarf Meyer Lemon and Meiwa Kumquat for a fetching display.
Where the winters are mild, create an exceptionally beautiful garden feature. Plant an odd number of Snowbank Variegated Angel Trumpets in an informal grouping on a berm, or in a mulched island bed.
Vary the spacing between, and use an undulating zigzag planting pattern for the most natural results. Before planting, spend time getting to know each of your individual trees.
Turn them this way and that to decide which aspect you want to feature. You'll be so glad you used a mindful approach to develop a very personal landscape.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Outdoors, they can grow well in either full sun or partial shade. You'll enjoy the most lavish blooms with at least four hours of sunlight a day.
Give them rich, well-drained soil. Add a few handfuls of compost to the backfill soil when planting.
This plant appreciates the time-tested symbiotic ingredients in Nature Hills Root Booster during planting. You'll set your beautiful tree up for a lifetime of good health by supporting the tiny feeder roots in their quest for water and micronutrients. It never "wears out"!
Container-grown plants require good quality potting soil. Ensure the pot has plenty of drainage holes, and is at least 10 inches in diameter.
Water these tropical trees regularly, especially if you keep your plant in a container. Use mulch to keep the roots moist, but please pull it back away from the trunk.
Once the nights dip below 50 degrees in cold winter Zones, bring them indoors and allow your containerized Brugmansia to go dormant. Simply trim it back by a third, then store it in a cool, dark place through the worst of winter to keep your plants dormant between 35-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
Water dormant plants lightly once a month to prevent the soil from becoming completely dried out. When spring arrives in your area, trim off any brown leaves.
Then move it in a sunny window. After the danger of frost has passed, you can place it outside again to decorate your summertime.
Order Snowbank Variegated Angel Trumpet today. You'll be so proud of your good taste!
