The Scentara Pura® is very easy to grow and highly adaptable in a great many climates. The Scentara® Pura is an improvement over traditional Lilac varieties, with more fragrance and better resistance to common diseases like leaf spot and higher resistance to powdery mildew. It's also deer-resistant! Plus, it displays superior performance in warmer areas than other Lilacs

Doing great in full sun all day long! Lilacs do need at least six hours or more of sun exposure per day for the best growth and the best blooms. Lilacs require well-drained soils and moderate moisture. Apply a low nitrogen fertilizer as soon as leaves emerge in spring. Preferring more alkaline soil, they are tough and resilient regardless, and they are not concerned with soil type and tolerate moderate drought once established. Add a three-inch layer of mulch over the root system, then pull it away from the stems directly to provide proper air circulation.

One of the more compact Lilacs, Scentara Pura® shouldn't require much pruning. Only prune right after the flowers are done blooming, as they bloom on last year's wood. You wouldn't want to risk inadvertently removing next year's amazing floral display!
