Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry™
Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

How to Use Sapphire Indigo™ Clematis in the Landscape
Set the stage for compelling outdoor living with a layered approach to garden design. Showcase Sapphire Indigo in a vertical gardening application to make a big splash in a small space.
Train them up along wide-mesh netting for a pretty privacy screen. Include taller varieties like Regal® Diamantina™ Clematis for greater coverage in an integrated planting.
Turn your idea of a climber upside down. Plant them along the top of a retaining wall and they'll softly cascade down for a beautifully low-maintenance garden feature.
Grow them in a series of hanging pots hooked securely along your porch or portico. Or tuck them around the edge of extra-large outdoor containers with a Baker's Blue Spruce evergreen "Thriller" for many, many years.
Clematis can also cover bare spots in your mixed border. Plant them without a support and they'll spread wide as a flowering groundcover under "leggy" shrubs and mature evergreens.
Try this variety as a special focal point in an outdoor Meditation Garden. Create a flowing "river" with a series planted as a sinuous ribbon of groundcover in a very modern garden.
Have fun and let your imagination come out and play. Use found objects to turn them into a shorter vertical accent in your mixed border.
There is nothing easier than using a tomato cage over the early spring growth. By season's end, you'll have a blooming ball that brings plenty of butterflies to visit.
#ProPlantTips for Care
Plant Clematis where their leaves receive full sun. Keep their root system cool and moist with shade and a three-inch layer of mulch. If you live in Zone 9, they'll appreciate partial shade in the afternoon.
Give them a planting site with well-drained soil, as they won't survive in standing water. There is a fine line between evenly moist soil and sopping wet soil.
For climbing plants, please install your structure before you plant Sapphire Indigo Clematis. If your support has wide struts, you'll want to first cover it with fine gauge coated wire or similar narrow support for their winding leaf stems to wrap around.
Our vining plant experts always recommend Nature Hills Root Booster with Clematis. Give their tiny feeder roots a life-long boost with symbiotic ingredients to help them access micronutrients from the soil.
Be patient with Clematis, as they focus first on root development. Apply consistent water to both in-ground and container-grown plants.
In early spring, prune down to live buds. This prolific variety blooms on new growth from the current season.
Place your order for these desirable plants. You'll feel like you live in a jewelry box with the deep blue blooms of Sapphire Indigo Clematis.
