To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes
Container sizes indicate plant age and growing capacity rather than liquid volume equivalents. Our containers follow industry-standard nursery "trade gallon" specifications, which differ from standard liquid gallon measurements.

Bare Root Plants
Bare root plants are sold by height from the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may exceed minimum height requirements.

- Shrubs & Perennials: 1 foot, 18 inches, 2 feet

Relish the bold color of perennial Rockin' Red Dianthus (Dianthus x barbatus 'Rockin' Red™') is an eye-catching interspecific hybrid with a sweet, spicy fragrance. It's one of the most vivid red Sweet William plants on the market...and will rebloom all growing season long!
Everyone appreciates their scented, lacy blooms in the border or cut flower arrangements. Even your local butterflies will go "ga-ga" for the extended season of bloom from early spring through late fall and beyond in warm climates.
Planting and Application:
The Rockin' Series of Dianthus are well-known for their durable, hardy nature. Easy-care and wildly floriferous...you'll enjoy a spirited visual display with lush foliage.
- Perfect in patio containers, Rockin' Red Dianthus adds sizzle to your patio or balcony. Consider it as a "Filler" in large containers surrounding a taller Crape Myrtle, Ornamental Grass or Rose bush.
- Pop them into your mixed borders and garden beds for a cheery, steadfast blaze of color. Who could be down or depressed with these flamboyant flowers at their feet?
- Put them to work in a Butterfly Garden, or naturalized area for beneficial pollinators. They'll fill in quickly and provide a brilliant hue for most of the season.
- Because of their long bloom period, they can easily enliven a foundation planting. If you are tired of the front of your home looking just "so-so"...add a showy row of Rockin' Red along your walkway to perk things up!
- Deer tend to leave Dianthus alone, so this selection is a great choice if they live in your area. We do highly recommend that you protect all plants by spraying deer repellent on planting day, and reapply it according to the directions.
#ProPlantTips for Care:
Dianthus Rockin' Red will flower best in full sun, with at least six hours of direct sunlight. Well-drained soil keeps the root system healthy...mound up or use containers if you have soggy soil for a long time after rainfall.
- Add Nature Hills Root Booster in the planting hole or as a top-dressing for mature plants. This symbiotic formula gives the tiny feeder roots life-long benefit that never "wears out".
- During the first season and in dry weather, give them a regular schedule of supplemental water. Feed them in early spring with a formula designed for flowering plants; keep nitrogen-rich lawn fertilizer away from your blooming plants.
- It's fine to cut flowers during the season for bouquets; but leave your perennials standing overwinter to protect your plants. There will be plenty of time in early spring to trim them back to start fresh for the new growing season.
