Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.
Standard Shipping Rates
At Nature Hills we handle, package and ship the products you order with the utmost care to ensure healthy delivery. Shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the tables below. Everyone loves a bright "pop" of color. It doesn't matter if you are just getting started as a gardener, or have been caring for plants for many years.
Add several Lumen Gold™ Fountain Grass (Pennisetum alopecuroides 'JS Jommenik' PP #27,435) to your space. Fresh-looking and compact, the bold foliage and fuzzy seed heads make a huge visual impact.
In spring, narrow blades of acid yellow emerge from the crown of the plant. The new growth of Lumen Gold Fountain Grass literally captures the sun.
After a long winter, your soul literally craves bright color, doesn't it? Plant sunny Daffodils, Forsythia shrubs and Lumen Gold to celebrate the new growing season.
These memorable warm season grasses are so cheerful. Their blades grow up, then open into a pert, showy fountain.
Add personality to your balcony, porch and planting beds. Lumen Gold fits just about anywhere you have a sunny spot.
Please note, however, that this cutie is not a houseplant. It should be grown outdoors, and allowed to go dormant over the winter.
It makes a fantastic "Thriller" in a small outdoor container. Or, add several to a huge pot to play the role of "Filler".
We bet you'll smile every time you look at it. It's very...pettable.
Around mid-summer, you'll be intrigued by the emerging flower panicles rising above the foliage. Puffy and fluffy tan bottlebrushes waft to and fro in the slightest breeze.
If you use several Lumen Gold Fountain Grasses along the edge of a border, you'll be delighted by the orchestral movement of these seed heads. Rippling Ornamental Grasses add a delightfully relaxing motion and gentle sound to your space.
Cut a few for unstructured flower arrangements indoors. Let them dry in the vase for a longer-lasting display.
As the season winds down, so does the intensity of the color. Still happy, but more of a mellow yellow vibe to match the pace of lazy dog days spent with friends and family outside.
Make the most of your space, order Lumen Gold™ Fountain Grass today. You'll be back for more...save time and order plenty!
How to Use Lumen Gold™ Fountain Grass in the Landscape
The brilliant mix of light green and golden foliage, along with impeccable form, give Lumen Gold a place in any garden style.
Add one or two of these sweetly mounded grasses to the humble-jumble of rustic Cottage Gardens. Or, run a short hedge at the edge of formal plantings for an eye-catching sense of definition.
Achieve a sophisticated modern landscape with a narrow row planting of Lumen Gold in a luminous ribbon of color.
For a solid planting, place 12 inches apart on center. Measure from the center of one to the center of the next.
Test the limits of design with this special small grass.
Plant in funky found objects like vintage soup tureens, concrete blocks, buckets, boots, tubs, crates, architectural salvage or roadside castoffs. Line your treasure with coconut coir mat, then fill with good quality potting soil.
You can also take advantage of the unique mulch materials, including: glass, marbles, bouncy rubber balls, dice, tiles, jacks, plastic gems and anything else that catches your Magpie eye.
Take it high-style, or downtown urban chic. Paint a face on a pot, and give it a Lumen Gold Fountain Grass wig as a charming garden whimsy.
Enjoy these plants on your terms. Don't worry...their streamlined form and bold color can handle a "lot of look".
#ProPlantTips for Care
They need full sun, at least six hours a day. The more fun, the better!
Plant in very well-drained soil. If you use them in containers, ensure there are plenty of drainage holes. Don't use a saucer underneath, unless you fill it first with river rock to keep the pot up and away from standing water.
Water carefully the first year to get that plant established. Plants grown in the ground will have some tolerance to periodic drought. Container plants need regular water.
Leave the foliage to dry for winter interest. Before it starts to put forth new growth in early spring, cut all stems down to an inch from the ground.
Be patient, these warm season grasses are a bit slower than other grasses to wake up out of dormancy in the springtime. Gold things come to those who wait.
These small, special standouts make a big statement. Order Lumen Gold™ Fountain Grass today.
