Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Stars and Stripes for your garden! Lucerne Blue-Eyed Grass (Sisyrinchium angustifolium 'Lucerne') is a herbaceous perennial that produces lovely blue flowers! This adorable little 'grass' enchants you with Iris-like foliage and petite, yellow-eyed blue blossoms.

The delicate blooms peek out at you amid the foliage from May until June and create a vibrant-green, fast carpet of clump-forming foliage. The centers of each bloom have a bright yellow center and the blooms of this ornamental grass have branched flowering stems.

This variety of the North American native, rambles around Missouri where it naturally occurs in damp open woods, slopes, and along stream banks throughout much of the State. Lucerne are hardy plants for a wide range of growing zones and climates.

Planting and Application:

Plant several in a naturalized area for a splash of color in spring. Creating wonderful groundcover in very little time and filling in between your perennial beds. Plant near where the gutters drain or simply allow it to naturalize meadows and hard to mow hillsides, or in informal garden areas such as cottage and woodland gardens, and native plant areas.

Excellent for edging or the front of mixed borders, or line and define garden beds with upright texture! The star-shaped flowers in bright blue to violet-blue fill in that early summer blooming period with lovely hued color. Wonderful in containers, these provide great upright form and texture fringing the patios, and the sword-like foliage looks lovely planted en masse because they are excellent at stabilizing slopes and stopping erosion.

  • Star-Shaped Blue Flowers
  • Semi-Evergreen Iris-Like Foliage
  • Upright Texture
  • Containers, Rain Gardens, Erosion Control & Groundcover

#ProPlantTips for Care:
