The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping
Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements

Growing Zones 5-9
Sweet, petite, and darling little Piglet Fountain Grass (Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Piglet') is a new fountain grass that is perfectly sized for any garden or container gardener! It's half the size of Dwarf Fountain Grass and much more floriferous than Little Bunny Pennisetum, and looks just as cute as can be!
Forming a 1-2 foot tall and wide ball of spiky green, ultra-slender foliage, Piglet is a warm-season grass and may take a bit of time before it emerges in the spring, but once the temperatures are warmer, it jumps out of the ground into a shower of spiky green. As it grows, the older outer blades fan out to the ground to create a lovely ball of texture that is barely knee-high. Late summer also brings the pinkish-white plumes that become spine-looking but soft, creamy white bottlebrushes until fall!
The value of this long-lived and low-maintenance Fountain Grass comes from the varied colors and textures of the foliage as well as the striking flower spikes. Thriving throughout USDA growing zones 5 to 9, from spring into the dead of winter, this grass offers an endearing display!
Planting and Application:
Piglet is one of those Ornamental Grasses that easily complements flowering plants nearby while making an impactful statement on its own! Fantastic as specimen plantings and in groupings, this little darling looks great mixed among its Little Bunny, Red Bunny Tails, and Dwarf counterparts as a mixed grass display that's easy to grow, long-lasting, and provides winter interest! The puffy seed heads are irresistible to kids, so plant a few in a Children's Garden or add some softness and charm to a Rock garden!
Hardy and xeric once established, Piglet lends its adorable form to that hell strip along the road, sidewalk, or driveway where it won’t mind the full sun, heat, and occasional salt spray. Fountain Grass is a good choice for busy gardeners because it requires little or no pruning, fussing over, or excess maintenance. Perfect en masse along hot, sunny swaths of ground, on hard-to-mow slopes, and in a checkerboard pattern on an eroding hillside.
Even small and tough enough for sunny porch pots, and patio planters where Piglet Pennisetum can be both a filler and thriller! Add some excitement among mixed planters on the front porch where this darling little Ornamental grass complements everything from wildflowers to formal plantings alike!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Pennisetum grasses are resistant to most insects and tolerate drought well. Plant in a full sun location that has well-drained soil of any kind. Water enough to establish, then this little perennial grass is good to go except for extreme heat and drought; then it will appreciate a drink to keep it looking its best! Prune warm-season ornamental grasses in the early spring and have patience as they are a bit slower to emerge in the cooler spring weather.
