Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Delivery and Shipping

Shipping

To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.

Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

*If you have found your zone already, it will be highlighted in the table below.

Plant a grand garden statement with the expressive branches and foliage of large-scale Golden Curls Curly Willow (Salix matsudana 'Golden Curls'). Contorted, twisting bronze branches create a marvelous impression that you'll never forget!

Golden Curls Willow is a desirable landscape tree that was awarded the esteemed Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. It's easy to achieve a poetic presentation with their downturned, curling limbs covered in unique leaves that are long, slender and curled.

Planting and Application:

Fast-growing trees with four seasons of interest are extremely valuable...especially if they tolerate periodically wet soils. Golden Curls develops gracefully weeping new growth that matures into an attractive, rounded oval

  • Plant one in a low-lying area to create a Rain Garden to filter potentially polluted water runoff. Add NatureHills.com Spring Rain Garden Pocket Garden and Summer Rain Garden Pocket Garden for flowering native perennials for "pops" of color and texture.
  • What Cutting Garden would be complete without stems of curly willow? Grow your own supply to weave them into arrangements through the year.
  • Capture their fanciful reflection with a pond-side planting. Give them plenty of room to reach their mature height and spread and place seating under their fantastic canopy.
  • Even gardeners with smaller spaces can grow Golden Curls Curly Willow. Simply keep them smaller with pruning to ground level every three years for a dynamic screening shrub.
  • Turn a landscape challenge into a rewarding haven! Butterflies, pollinators and birds love their spring catkins and sheltering canopy; but deer tend to leave this cultivar alone.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Ensure Golden Curls Curly Willow receives an even schedule of moisture. Mulch is recommended after planting to keep the root zone cool and moist...just be sure to pull it back away from directly touching the trunk.

  • You'll be pleased with the Nature Hills Root Booster added to the planting hole. After all, this symbiotic formula provides a life-long support of the tiny feeder roots without "wearing out".
  • Water your new tree well before planting, and plan to drench the planting hole afterward planting to eliminate air pockets. Get expert planting tips from the NatureHills.com Horticulture Team.
  • Renew a larger tree by simply removing a few of the longest, largest limbs periodically to encourage young, colorful growth. Prune to the ground for size control every three years to maintain as a shrub.
