Description
Glow Stick® Japanese Holly is a one-of-a-kind narrow columnar evergreen with brilliant golden-yellow foliage that adds a bold vertical exclamation point to any landscape. Growing 4–6 feet tall but only 1 foot wide, this remarkable space-saver brings structure, color, and year-round interest to the tightest spots, pathways, narrow beds, containers, and small urban gardens. The vivid golden foliage holds its color beautifully in sun without burning, making it one of the most striking columnar evergreens available.
- Dramatic narrow columnar habit, 4–6 ft. tall, just 1 ft. wide, incredible space-saver
- Brilliant golden-yellow evergreen foliage that resists sun scorch
- Unique vertical accent for pathways, entryways, and narrow borders
- Requires virtually no pruning to maintain its natural columnar shape
- Female plant, may produce black berries with a nearby male pollinator
- Evergreen interest in all four seasons
- Hardy in Zones 5–9
Glow Stick® Japanese Holly thrives in full sun to part shade with moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Sunnier exposures produce the most vibrant golden foliage; in shadier conditions, color may be more subdued. It tolerates acidic, slightly alkaline, and clay soils with adequate drainage. Water regularly until established, then maintain consistent moisture for best performance. This narrow gem is practically maintenance-free and has no serious pest or disease issues. Plant in groups or use as a standalone specimen for a bold, sculptural effect. Shop now!
