Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Early Brilliance™ Magenta Bergenia – Bold & Early Blooming
Get ready to add stunning color and texture to your garden with Early Brilliance™ Magenta Bergenia (Bergenia 'Magenta')! This hardy, easy-care perennial lights up the landscape with clusters of intense magenta-pink flowers atop tall sturdy stems. Early Brilliance™ blooms earlier than most Bergenia varieties! And they all bloom EARLY early!
As the first burst of spring color, these vibrant blossoms rise above glossy, deep green foliage, which remains lush and semi-to-fully evergreen throughout the year. In fall and winter, the thick, leathery leaves take on rich burgundy tones, adding seasonal interest and contrast to any garden setting.
Also known as Pig Squeak, the glossy waxy foliage makes a pig's oink-like sound when rubbed! A boon to early emerging pollinators, and a sight for sore eyes in the early spring, Bergenia can be seen breaking through the last remnants of snow in defiance of winter's hold.

- Sunlight: Bergenia prefers partial shade to full sun; morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal.
- Soil: Adapts to most soil types, thriving in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soils.
- Watering: Water regularly when young; once established, Bergenia is highly drought-tolerant.
- Mulching: A 3-4 inch deep mulch layer helps retain moisture and protect roots from extreme temperatures. Can top-dress with compost to improve soil health.
- Pruning: Remove spent flower stems and trim dead leaves for a clean appearance.
- Fertilizing: A light feeding in early spring encourages lush growth and abundant blooms.
- Division: Pig Squeak needs to be divided every 3-5 years to keep the clumps from choking themselves out and maintain plant vigor. The best time to divide this spring-flowering perennial is in the late autumn.
