Huge purple blooms from Proven Winners®! The Rainbow Rhythm® Nosferatu Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Nosferatu') shows off its huge, broad triangle-shaped petals! It has fragrant 6" flowers that have a shiny dark purple color with a bright green eye and throat. These ruffled blossoms prove to hold their color in the sun and have more prominent veining in their purple petals. These fragrant trumpet-shaped blossoms often attract lots of attention from everyone and even a few Hummingbirds too!

Nosferatu blooms mid-season and has a very high bud count, it is an easy-to-grow variety. Like its Daylily cousins, Nosferatu stands up to even the harshest of conditions. This Daylily is a semi-evergreen tetraploid and has larger, thicker leaves and flowers, stronger flower scapes, more intense coloration, and increased vigor. Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month!

Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9, Rainbow Rhythm® Daylilies are heat and cold-tolerant and grow up to a 2-foot tall and wide clump. The arching, cascading fountains of strappy green leaves are pest and disease resistant, easy to grow, and very low-maintenance, there's little that bothers these herbaceous perennial plants!

Planting and Application:

Daylilies are well-known for their rugged durability in urban conditions, their tolerance of pollution, and streetside plantings. You can even use them under Black Walnut trees, as they aren't affected by juglone! Once established, the Daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion. These herbaceous perennials require little maintenance throughout the year to keep performing their best. Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a great choice for any gardener. Daylilies grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions. Add a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch over the soil surface for best results!

Deadhead during the summer to keep the plants reblooming. Daylilies are susceptible to rust and some other foliage diseases so for that reason it is very important to cut all of the foliage to the ground in late fall after the plants have been exposed to a couple of frosts.
