Shipping
To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Growing Zones 7-10
Deepest Darkest Blue Anemone (Anemone 'Darkest Blue') is a velvety, silky, and satiny petalled bloom with dramatic dark eyes! It proves a plant doesn't need to produce huge blooms to make an impact! Each flower features charming layered petals that are broad and begin cupped but eventually create a saucer of royal purple to deep dark blue!
Their satiny texture and velvety center make them feel more sophisticated than other Anemone varieties. What makes them so great? They produce bloom after bloom all spring long, and their flowers are extraordinary and offer saturated coloration. Not only are they reliable and worth their weight in blooms, but they also have strong single stems and their blooms last for weeks once cut.
Complimented by a light fragrance, Anemone are high-style finery for your garden containers and borders in the sun! It's amazing that a perennial bulb that only grows 12-18 inches tall can be this captivating! Use as annual accents in cooler climates or hardy perennial bulb-like corms in warmer climates of USDA zones 7-10.
Planting and Application:
Also known as Windflowers, Anemone are gorgeous wildflowers in nature and now spectacular garden specimens for your landscape and planters! They are also a florist's best-kept secret! Anemones in a floral arrangement make a beautiful focal point with their strong, straight stems and the ability to last!
These are perfect for gardeners that are looking for low-growing blue flowers. When planted by the dozen, they really sing as a chorus of blues and green. And they won't demand a lot of your time. Container gardens gain a specimen, landscapes gain butterfly-attracting blooms, and any garden bed gains a unique feature!
- Deep Dark Royal Purple-Blue
- Silky, Satiny Layered Petals
- Light Fragrance & Dark Eyes
- Lovely Mounds of Green Foliage
- Planters, Beds & Borders, Pollinators & Cut Flower Gardens
#ProPlantTips for Care:
When planted in full sun, Anemone flowers throughout spring into the summer. They appreciate partial shade in the hotter of their favored growing zones. Provide a rich humusy location with consistent moisture. Prune away the foliage in late summer or fall after it yellows to clean the bed and apply a 3-4 inch layer of mulch to maintain soil moisture, as insulation, and to enrich the site. Plant Anemones in fall a few inches apart, and they will spring to life the following spring.
- Full Sun & Partial Shade
- Moderate Consistent Moisture
- Organically-Rich Soil
- Clean Mounds After Foliage Yellows
- Unappealing to Deer & Rabbits
