Incredible blue evergreen accent tree with outstanding color! You couldn't ask Santa for a better evergreen! The Colorado Blue Spruce Tree (Picea pungens 'Glauca') grows into the classic Christmas tree shape - no pruning required! They grow impressively tall but they stay narrow, with a small footprint but a big impact!

What really makes the Colorado Blue Spruce tree stand out from the crowd of other evergreens is the beautifully different color. It's greenish. It's blueish. It's silvery. As an added benefit, this tree grows perfectly shaped pinecones that make great craft projects and are attractive to wildlife.

It is just as striking in the winter as it is in the summer - maybe more so - since it sparkles covered in snow or next to brown, bare branches! Like all Spruce trees, Colorado Blues are hardy and cold-tolerant throughout USDA planting zones 3 - 8, these blue-gray trees won't fade or change color in the heat of summer or the chill of winter!

Landscape Application:

You can't help but notice Colorado Blue Spruce trees! Perfect front lawn trees and specimens for curb appeal, Spruce has a neat, tidy, and perfectly pyramidal form and stands out amazingly! It shines next to dark greens and makes the autumn reds, yellows, and oranges around it pop.

They make an excellent accent tree, and an impressive privacy screen, property divisions, or windbreak if several are planted in a row. Wildlife love groupings of these trees, evenly spaced or irregularly spaced, and many types of backyard critters will arrive to eat the seeds from the cones and take shelter in the dense limbs.

Slimmer in profile, go big, and use these colorful conifers throughout your sun garden for privacy, screening, blocking drifting snow, or as backdrops to your landscape!

  • Glaucous Blue-Green Needles
  • Very Cold Hardy Native Evergreen
  • Wildlife-Friendly Food & Shelter
  • Incredible Windbreaks, Privacy & Slow Drifting Snow
  • Gorgeous Specimens, Accents & Color All Year

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Spruce Trees need full sun to grow best, needing at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. Plant in any type of well-draining soil with moderate moisture access during the year. Especially appreciating a 3-4 inch deep layer of mulch around the entire root zone and a long winter drink to prevent the needles from burning in the coldest growing zones. Provide a protected location away from drying northern winds in zones 5 and lower.

This cold hardy tree is low maintenance, requiring little more than planting it and watching it grow! Spruce are drought-tolerant and unattractive to deer, while birds and bunnies love the shelter it provides, but you don't have to worry about them nibbling on it.

  • Full Sun
  • Well-Drained Soil
  • Moderate Moisture Needs
  • Minimal Pruning In Spring
  • Deer-Tolerant

If you'd like an impressive evergreen tree with a vibrant color that requires little care, the Colorado Blue Spruce is the tree for you! Order yours early as these spectacular landscape trees are in high demand at NatureHills.com.
