To obtain a more accurate shipment time-frame, simply enter your zip code in the “Find Your Growing Zone” box to the right. Our plants are grown all over the country and lead time on items may be different because of this. Once your order is placed, you will also receive the specific shipment time-frame information as part of your order confirmation. Once an item ships, you will receive shipment notification and tracking numbers, so you can follow along while your plant travels to your doorstep. We use FedEx, UPS, or USPS at our discretion.
Due to winter weather we have put a hold on shipping to the areas shown below in grey. You can still order now and we will ship the plant to you during an appropriate time for your zone.

Seasonally, Nature Hills offers hand selected, high quality bare root trees, shrubs and perennials. Bare root plants are sold by height from the top of the root system to the top of the plant. Plants may be taller than the height minimums.

Comparing the amazing Brentwood Australian Tree Fern should be the common name (Cyathea cooperi 'Brentwood') with a regular House Fern is like comparing a lion to a tabby cat! In its native habitat, the Australian Tree Fern can grow tall and looks far more like a tree than a Fern!
Forming enormous branches of ferny fronds that are divided into smaller, fine-cut fine-textured smaller fronds! The fuzzy brown new stems and new growth - which are like giant brown-flocked fiddleheads - emerge from the center crown of these large ornamentals! Hardy in USDA growing zones of 5 through 8, this perennial Fern can be evergreen in areas with mild winters. Growing 18-24 inches tall and wide, Tassel Ferns enjoys partial to full shade, with a preference for afternoon shade from the hot sun and full shade in hot climates. They will appreciate the drying power of the morning sun.
Choose a highly organically rich, moist, and fertile location in well-drained soil. Best in consistently moist soil, while establishing, and afterward water weekly to ensure lush, full growth. A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill.
Prune this Fern, or clean up dead debris or old fronds in early spring before the new fiddleheads unfurl. Otherwise, these are easily grown, low-maintenance plants that are deer, rabbit, pest, and disease-free! Divide every 3-5 years to keep the clumps growing vigorously.
