Description
Paul's Glory Hosta (Hosta 'Paul's Glory') is a low-care perennial and is one of the most popular landscape plants around. The large, heart-shaped, pointed leaves are brilliant gold with a wide blue-green edge! The pale-lavender flowers of this fast-growing Hosta appear in early summer on 2-foot tall scapes, providing bright color in the shade.
The Paul's Glory was Hosta of the Year in 1999. A great choice for any beginner gardener! Hosta experts believe that Paul's Glory is one of the best gold Hostas available! Its tolerance ranges from sub-zero in the north to the heat of the Southern states. Hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 to 9 and grows can reach 20-25 inches in height when in bloom and 36-48 inches in width, forming a wide fountain!
Also known as Plantain Lily, with so many varieties, in a wide range of colors, shapes, and sizes, it will be easy for you to get hooked on Hostas! Start your own collection and create a specimen planting with these fantastic plants!
Planting and Application:
Ideal for shady positions in small courtyards to large landscapes en masse, these urban condition-tolerant perennials are highly adaptable to any shaded area you want their brilliance to shine! Like all Hosta, it is most at home in shady, woodland settings and works well as an accent or edging plant, or groundcover!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Plant Paul's Glory in an area that receives the right amount of light. The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration. Too much sun will burn the leaves. Paul's Glory is at home in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5 with regular moisture access.
It is best to keep areas around Hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. Low maintenance and easy care, there's not much work for you! Once frosts arrive, Hosta is an herbaceous perennial that dies back to the ground and emerges again in early spring. A generous 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch chips helps retain soil moisture as well as insulate the root system from heat and chill. Be sure to remove dead leaf matter from the area to prevent the spread of fungal issues and deter slugs. But it has excellent slug resistance and no disease issues! Divide your perennials every 3-5 years to maintain vigor.
