Fiji™ Rose Of Sharon
Talk about a tropical treat in your own backyard! The Fiji™ Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus 'Minspot') is a breathtaking flowering shrub that turns heads with its large, semi-double, trumpet-shaped blooms. Each petal is a soft, blush pink, kissed with a vivid red eye at the center.
Blooming in summer and continuing right into fall, this flowering bush is a reblooming wonder. Though not fragrant, the sheer abundance of flowers provides pollinator appeal in spades.
A member of the First Editions® collection, Fiji™ is a refined hybrid form of the traditional Rose of Sharon, bred for a more compact, well-branched habit. Its growth is upright but contained, making it far tidier than older varieties.

Part of the Mallow family, its relatives include hardy Hibiscus and tropical Hibiscus. While many Hibiscus are tropical, this cold-hardy shrub thrives in USDA growing zones 5-8, handling frosty winters like a champ. This is a deciduous flowering shrub that rewards you with incredible summer-to-fall color and a compact shape. It is drought-tolerant once established, sun-loving, and heat-tolerant.
- Planting Time: Spring or fall
- Sun Requirements: Full sun is best for abundant blooms
- Soil Requirements: Well-drained soil - tolerates clay, loam, and slightly sandy conditions
- Moisture Needs: Keep evenly moist the first year - use the Finger Test. Once established, it's drought-tolerant.

The replacement White Pillar Rose of Sharon is doing great. Regarding the previous 7 plants, they also look great. Execpt one, it did not get the correct color gene (its magenta pink) I'm not happy about it, but it is a healthy plant. Someone in your nursery is color blind. I hope that is the only surprise, I wanted all Pillar plants, no bushes, that will require more time.

Rose of Sharon is such a reliable bloomer once it settles in, and the blue-violet flowers on this one are hard to beat for late-summer color. Arrived healthy and on time. Put in large pot and placed on patio. It is growing with height and new leaves and color is good. No blooms yet but think I see some coming out. Looking forward to them.

My Rose of Sharon came up later than all my other plants and I found out that is normal. It is a late emerger compared to a lot of other plants. I wish I would have read the information on this site rather than worrying.
