  • Sunlight: These gardenias thrive in full sun to partial shade, requiring at least 6 hours of direct light for the best flower production. In hotter climates, provide afternoon shade to prevent the foliage from scorching and to keep the creamy white blooms from wilting prematurely.
  • Soil: Aim for rich, organic soil that is consistently moist but never soggy. If you have heavy clay, plant them in a raised mound to improve drainage; for sandy soil, mix in compost to help hold onto the nutrients they crave.

Watering Requirements

For the first growing season, water two to three times a week to help the roots knit into your soil. Once mature, Dwarf Radicans is moderately drought tolerant, but inconsistent moisture will cause flower buds to drop before they ever open.
