Rose Trees bloom best in full sun and need to be planted in generously mulched, enriched, well-drained soil and provide moderate, yet consistent moisture throughout the growing season. Ensuring the soil is enriched and well-drained to enjoy the best performance and good air circulation is important. Proper site selection and good garden hygiene keep this disease-resistant choice in tip-top shape (Lady Violet would expect nothing less!).

Water new plants regularly so they do not dry out between waterings and don't forget the Nature Hills Root Booster, to give this fragrant Rose life-long support when used during planting. Use 3-4 inches of arborist mulch to help keep the roots moist and keep the ground near your Roses hydrated on a regular schedule once established to support the blooms, avoiding splashing the foliage. Apply 3-4 inches of arborist mulch and apply Rose fertilizer 2-3 times a year for best results.

Rose Tree Care & Pruning

Some winter protection for Tree Form Roses is suggested for the colder zones 5 and 6 and some of zone 7 too by overwintering in an unheated garage after it goes dormant, or outside with straw and burlap wrap. Then in spring, take it back out or unwrap it and trim the head back to about a 12" sphere just as it begins to grow again in spring.

Early each spring, after the last frost of the year has passed, it's always a good idea to prune back the Rose tree several inches to maintain the nice round form atop its trunk. Keep new blooms returning with occasional deadheading, quickly improving your overall display.

Prune away suckers and branching that forms at the base or on the trunk each year too. Pruning Roses allows for better, bushier growth each year and stimulates new growth.
