Showy yellow blooms with hot pink and red tips, the semi-cactus Tahiti Sunrise™ Dahlia (Dahlia 'Tahiti Sunrise') will wow you and your pollinators with their superb color and outstanding form!

The huge blooms emerge from multiple buds that slowly take their turn to bloom throughout the summer and fall! The 36-48 inch tall stems are strong and hold the blooms above the lush green foliage mounds 18-24 inches wide.

Tahiti Sunrise™ Dahlia is perfect for sunny landscapes in all USDA growing zones! Use Dahlia as seasonal accents and annual potted thrillers, Dahlia tubers simply need dug up in the fall and stored safely in a frost-free location for the winter if you live in a cold growing zone where the ground will freeze. In warm climates and frost-free winters, Dahlia can be kept in the ground year-round.

Landscape Application:

Tahiti Sunrise™ Dahlia is a gorgeous addition to your poolside and seating areas where the brilliant hue will be sure to be a conversation starter! The yellow petals transition into hot pinkish-purple and then bold red, melding with borders, cut flower gardens, and Pollinator borders! Line a pathway with these tall flowering plants or use them as vibrant backdrops to your garden beds and borders!

You don't even need to have a garden to enjoy Dahlia! Balcony gardeners and landscapes with no more room in their gardens can still enjoy these plants as container thrillers and raised planter thrillers! Snip a few of these blooms for your bouquets indoors to enjoy their beauty indoors and out!

  • Lush Green Foliage With Tall Stems
  • Semi-Cactus Blooms From Summer Til Fall
  • Great For Pollinators & Cut Flower Gardens!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Plant Dahlia tubers in full sun for the best growth and the most blooms! The morning sun is best due to its drying power to clear the leaves of dew. Delicate Dahlia foliage also appreciates afternoon shade in hot climates and everywhere they love good air circulation! The key to successfully growing Dahlias is well-enriched soil with regular fertilizer. It is recommended that you add 3-4 inches of arborist bark mulch for consistent soil moisture and protect the roots.

Even though they are often referred to as 'bulbs' the roots of the Dahlia are tubers like potatoes and sprout from the 'eyes'. Plant Dahlia tubers between 10-12 inches deep in loosened, enriched soil. These modified roots need to be planted in very well-drained soil that won't become soggy. Tubers planted directly in the ground will start to sprout in about 3 weeks depending on your climate and weather.

Deadhead regularly for continuous rebloom and trim back yellowed foliage in the fall. Dig up the tubers for the winter. Store these bulbs in a cool, dark place for the winter.

Forming from bulb-like tubers, these perennials need protection from freezing temperatures. While Dahlia can be planted in all growing zones, climates with cold winters need to "lift" the tubers in the fall before the ground freezes.

  • Full Sun & Partial/Afternoon Shade
  • Well-Drained Enriched Soil
  • Tolerates Moderate to Moist Locations
  • Prune After Foliage Yellows & Lift Tubers In Fall
  • Tubers With Multiple Eyes Each
