#ProPlantTips For Care
Robust Male Fern, like most Fern, does need part shade to full shade locations. Afternoon shade especially when in the warmer of its growing zones 4 through 9.
Semi-evergreen in warmer climates, be sure to water regularly and keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the heat. However, this plant is very humidity tolerant.
Once established, Robust Male Ferns are partly drought tolerant, but for best results and health, be sure to provide supplemental watering in times of drought.
Requiring consistently moist soil, even tolerating soggy soil, Ferns do well as long as the soil drains well and doesn't have long-term standing water. Preferring it on the acidic side and organically rich and humusy.
A generous layer of mulch helps retain soil moisture and insulates the root system from heat and chill. Remove dead fronds each fall to eliminate hiding spots for slugs.
Add robust, luxurious texture and color for a soothing garden retreat with Ferns like Robust Male Fern and you'll enjoy its robust, hardy benefits year-round! Order yours from Nature Hills Nursery today!
