Plant Sentry™

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.

This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program. The Plant Sentry Compliance Officer works closely with NatureHills.com and each nursery or fulfillment center to ensure only compliant plants are sold to customers.

Fruiting trees are in huge demand right now. People across the country are visiting our site and placing their orders to support their families with healthy, homegrown superfruit. It really doesn't get much easier than Red Silk Pomegranate (Punica granatum 'Red Silk'). This naturally dwarfed variety easily fits into small space gardens.

It's pretty enough to replace traditional ornamental landscaping shrubs. Grow it in the ground in USDA Zones 7 - 10. Or...grow it in large containers or grow bags anywhere with proper winter protection!

Long, narrow leaves lend a tropical look to your landscape or balcony. Gorgeous red blooms in summer only enhance that impression. Red Silk is so exciting to watch the development of your annual crops! Red Silk Pomegranate is known for a productive harvest of medium-large fruit.

Don't underestimate the beauty of the fruit display!

Red Silk is aptly named! Smooth, jewel-toned fruit features a pronounced calyx crowing each one. Inside, you'll find deep pink, edible arils that bring the best of sugary sweetness and zippy tang together. Red Silk fruit has a wonderful berry-like finish.

Use in cooking, enjoy fresh or juice. Anyway you use them, you'll get a very high boost of antioxidants. You can even reduce the juice to make your own grenadine molasses for delectable "Shirley Temples" mocktails. Add a splash of vodka or bourbon to enhance the experience, as you like.

Red Silk stays small and spreads wide. It's a versatile dwarf tree that offers so much for the home gardener.

Place your order today! You won't want to miss your chance to grow commercial-orchard grade Red Silk Pomegranate trees at home.

How to Use Red Silk Pomegranate in the Landscape

Sure, you could tuck them away in the corner of your yard with your tomatoes and runner beans. But why miss out on the lavish display of big, red flowers?

Plant a row of Red Silk Pomegranates as a hard-working privacy screen behind your patio seating. You'll have a more productive tree with one or more. You might even start a special collection of several dwarf varieties, like Desertnyi or the Parfianka Pomegranate. What a nice garden feature to enjoy all growing season.

Use a pair flanking either side of your front door. Keep their lower limbs on, and run a low hedge along your property line.

You can also remove the lowest limbs back to the main trunk. Gain a very special, petite "tree-form" to delight all who see it. Visitors to your space will be astounded. Edible Landscapes are an excellent icebreaker for conversation.

Your friends will want to inspect the growing harvest each time they drop by. Don't forget to enlist their help for food prep!

#ProPlantTips for Care

Grow Pomegranates in full sunlight or partial shade. They need at least four hours of direct sunlight a day. Provide well-drained soil that doesn't stay wet for long. If you see puddles that remain a long time after rain, create a raised bed or container to elevate the root system. Use slow-release organic fertilizer for fruiting plants. Follow both the timing schedule and application rates for best results.

Apply mulch in a three-inch layer, spread to three feet around the canopy. Pull the mulch away from the trunk. Although an established plant will tolerate periodic drought, giving even water during fruit production helps protect against split fruit. Apply a medium amount of water on a regular basis.

Grow Red Silk Pomegranate in pots or grow bags, if your winters are too cold for in-ground growing. They will still go dormant and may lose their leaves during this time. In colder Zones, overwinter them in a cool, but bright space like an unheated sunroom. Don't let them freeze. During winter dormancy, water once a month at most, and ensure the excess water drains quickly.

In late winter, prune your Red Silk Pomegranate to open the canopy. Eliminate crossing branches and branches growing into the canopy.

If you want to experience the richest, best-tasting fruit...grow your own. Please hurry and place your order for Red Silk Pomegranate...Nature Hills Nursery sells out quickly.
