Craft a marvelous retreat from the stressful modern world with romantic plants like Cascade Falls Weeping Bald Cypress P#12296 (Taxodium distichum 'Cascade Falls'). There is a lot to consider about this exceptional specimen, after all. Fine-textured, feathery green leaves make a soft presentation all season.
Our plant experts have grown Cascade Falls Weeping Bald Cypress as a staked tree-form. Watch the play of light and shadow across the wide canopy. This special weeping cultivar has a garden story to tell...and you'll never get tired of hearing it.
As temperatures drop, the fine-textured soft bright green foliage turns an outstanding orange for a vivid autumn accent that can't be overlooked! With age, the trunk will develop a gray/brown exfoliating texture and the weeping branches and bark look fantastic in the winter!
These unique dwarf and weeping forms of the Bald Cypress are unique deciduous evergreen conifers. Hardy throughout USDA planting zones 4 to 10, they remain as resilient as their towering native cousins. Growing just 8-12 feet in height and spreading to a whimsical 4-5 feet in width, Cascade Falls looks best as a romantic weeping umbrella-like form, or as a fairytale-like tree with the limbs sweeping the ground.
Planting and Application:
Plant this spreading elegant weeper in a high-profile spot for an incredible conversation starter. Use its weeping form as an outdoor room divider to separate an entertainment area from a place of quiet contemplation. Allow the downturned branches to set the stage for witty conversation about the meaning of life.
Plan ahead for the showy fall display by placing fall-flowering plants like Aster, at its base. If you have the room, this is a gorgeous plant to repeat along the far side of a Rain Garden, pond, or water feature. Congregate a trio...varying the spacing between the plants for an evocative garden feature!
A perfect specimen for a raised berm on the front lawn, or accenting your home's foundation and garden beds. Plant in a Zen garden or meditation nook, reflected in a still pond for a pretty presentation!
Even large planters in the sun will accommodate these smaller ornamental trees! Weeping plants bring delight and whimsy to any landscape and this unique dwarf weeping evergreen amps up the curb appeal anywhere in the sun!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Cypress Falls is a dwarf Bald Cypress that grows best in full sun. Provide a well-drained slightly acidic site with regular moisture access their first year in the ground. We highly recommend Nature Hills Root Booster during planting. Keep this incredible plant happy by adding this life-long formula that never "wears out". Apply acidic soil fertilizers to keep the pH moderately low, following directions on the label.
All plants perform best with a 3-4 inch layer of mulch over their roots. Once established, provide supplemental moisture during heat and prolonged drought. If needed, prune to correct and adjust shape in the very early spring. These weeping Cypresses handle urban conditions, sun, partial shade, and a variety of soil types without missing a beat.
- Full Sun
- Slightly Acidic Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Moisture Needs - Can Tolerate Periodically Wet Soils
- Prune If Needed Early Spring
- Low Maintenance Hardy & Long-Lived Tree
