Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

The Adirondack Flowering Crabapple Tree (Malus 'Adirondack') is an ornamental Crabapple which has carmine red buds for weeks before it explodes in waxy-white, fragrant flowers with traces of red! Much to the delight of all your pollinators each spring! You'll love how the blooms seem to overwhelm the tree with color.
The Adirondack Crabapple has an upright branched, narrow manner. It has a classic vase shape, with the branches extending up into the sky. This makes it perfect for those tight spaces where you'd like a Crabapple, but just don't think you have the room. Adirondack will flower and fruit far longer than other Crabapples and is highly disease resistant! You won't have to worry about spraying it with costly chemicals.
The three inch, dark green leaves have a leathery texture and provide a dense, healthy appearance to your tree through the summer months, but you'll especially love the ½ inch fruit your tree produces. The little balls of bright orange color are a delight to behold, and hang on into the winter months. The contrast of their brilliant color against the white snow is outstanding in any yard.
Landscape Application:
Adirondacks long flowering and have persistent fruit that makes this a showy specimen all growing season long! It would be an outstanding focal accent in your front yard, flower garden or accenting a shrub border, or make these trees the border or hedge itself! A pretty flowering row of Adirondack Crabapples will make everyone on both sides of your privacy screen smile!
The Adirondack Crabapple is a veritable gift to butterflies, birds and bees, and certainly a pleasure to experience in any landscape! Add flowering beauty to any sunny landscape large or small and watch as the wildlife and compliments roll in!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Adirondack does best in full sun for the most blooms and needs to be planted in a well-drained organic site. Providing regular water during the first few years in the ground and during prolonged drought is the best way to keep your tree growing stress-free. Rarely needing pruning, nip off any wayward branches and crossing stems in the late winter or very early spring.

- Well-Drained Soil
- Moderate Regular Moisture
- Prune Late Winter
