Understanding Plant Options
Nature Hills offers plants in two main formats:
- Container Plants: Grown in pots with soil, sized by container volume and plant age
- Bare Root Plants: Dormant plants without soil, sized by height measurements
Container Plant Sizes

Growing Zones
Order the new award-winning Proven Winners® Curly Fries Hosta (Hosta x 'Curly Fries') and enjoy a smaller yet truly unique perennial with long, slender, wavy pointed foliage! Spilling out of the central rosette, the unique light-green fountains of arching leaves, the whimsical effect makes up for its smaller stature!
Curly Fries can be light green or even chartreuse in partial sun, as the rippled narrow leaves are lovely backdrops for the taller scapes of trumpet-shaped lavender blooms. Pollinators and hummingbirds adore these summer blooms!
Curly Fries Hosta is wonderfully colorful and cold-hardy throughout USDA growing zones 3 through hot and humid zone 9! The mounds can grow 6 in height but up to 16 inches tall when in flower, and spread 16 inches wide at maturity as well.
Planting and Application:
Curly Fries Hosta is a fantastic specimen plant for shady gardens and planters! Pair up with some fun spillers to make it a feature display! Cottage gardens in the understory, mixed Hosta collection displays, and perennial borders. One way to enjoy this wavy little cutie more is to plant it in drifts and groupings to maximize its impact!
Lovely little bright edging that lights up a shade garden border, as groupings in dappled borders, and as rows of bright color along the fronts of evergreen hedges and foundation shrubs! The bright pops of color and wavy texture make Curly Fries a fantastic foliage plant of interest!

#ProPlantTips for Care:
Perennial Hostas are incredibly easy to grow! Growing best in partial sun though warmer climates and drier conditions where you should provide afternoon shade or full shade. In cooler growing zones and sites with regular moisture can handle more sun. Low maintenance and adaptable, Hosta isn't particular on soil type, any well-drained medium that is highly organic with regular moisture works for these easy plants.
Once frosts arrive, Hosta is an herbaceous perennial that dies back to the ground and emerges again in early spring. Be sure to remove dead leaf matter from the area to prevent the spread of fungal issues and deter slugs. Divide these perennials every 3-5 years to maintain vigor. Doing best with a 3-4 inch thick layer of mulch helps the roots well to keep them cool, moist, and insulated.
